Happy Halloween!!! I hope your Halloween was so super scary!!! Mine was pretty laid back, but that was okay!! I had to work at 8 this morning, and I'm pretty sure last night was the latest I stayed up all semester, so that was great for getting up at 8. I was totally not all there ate work today which was apparent from the beginning when I wrote down that I started working at 10, and then I had to cross it off to put the correct time. My sanity only decreased by there.
Like every Thursday, I was ready to fall asleep at around 9, but at 10 I was perfectly wake again, so that was good. I studied for my German test between work and German, and then I took my German test which wasn't too bad.
After the test, I went to lunch, and then I read for my honors class. I went to my honors class where she handed out candy, and then after that I ate dinner in my room. I finished my homework for tomorrow as soon as I could, but of course that didn't happen very fast because I was so ready for the weekend that I didn't feel like doing any homework. After my homework, I watched the movie Kelley sent me, though! And I had a movie night for my Halloween. The movie she sent was Paranorman which was pretty good, but I wouldn't really classify it as a children's movie. It was really cute, though, and had a pretty good message behind it. And the animation was really cool.
I was falling asleep during the movie because I was so tired, so I took about a ten minute nap half way through, and then I finished the movie and went to bed.

Today was the beginning of me being lonely!! But I'm trying not to think about it!! So I had my 8:30 class this morning where I'm pretty sure I yawned the most in a fifty minute period than ever before. I was super tired, but I got through it, and after that, Maritza and I got breakfast. I had German and then religion, and after that I ate lunch and went back to my room.
Maritza came back a little after 2 and gathered all her things together, and then she left me for the weekend :(. I took this picture of her right before she left. She had so many things to carry, but it was all good. Her mom's birthday is tomorrow, so she decided to go home to surprise her, and she figured she might as well as just stay until Sunday because there was no point in going home for only one day.
After that I went to work, and then I ate dinner. I spent the night doing homework because that's all I do with my life. It was actually pretty productive because I had the room to myself, but at the same time my mind was already on weekend mode. I ended up finishing the proposal for my paper topic which was exciting.
After awhile I went to bed all by my lonesome.

Today was another busy day! I woke up at 8:30 and worked on some homework before setting off for German. After German I wen to visit my teacher for office hours, and we discussed potential paper topics for my outline thing that's due on Thursday, so now I feel a lot better about it because I actually have a topic. After that I quickly ate lunch in the library before heading to class with the same teacher I had just had office hours with.
After class I had to run to the honors building to talk about paper topics with my honors teacher, and after deciding to change my topic completely, I left and went back to the library. I had about a half hour before work, so I didn't really do much, and then I went to work. After work I met with Maritza for dinner again, and then I went back to the honors building to do more homework. Within an hour of me being there, the people in the private study space left, and I was able to get in which was the best thing ever because it was so quiet and there was so much room to do work! I ended up getting a lot done in there, which was nice. I took a picture of me sitting in that room because it was the best thing to happen to me all day.
I stayed at the honors center for a few hours, and when I had finally caught up with my homework for the week, I went back to my room to continue doing homework without the stress I've had for the past few days.

Today was a really stressful day because I realized just how stressful this week is going to be! The main thing that's stressing me out is that I have to turn in this thing on Thursday introducing the topic of a paper I'm going to write, and I need to find two sources for it, but I don't know what I want to write about, so it's stressing me out. I also have research to do for my honors class that's due on Wednesday that I haven't started yet.
So anyway. I had my 8:30 class this morning which was pretty terrible because I'm getting annoyed at my teacher for assigning three hours worth of historical reading that we cover in class anyway, and then she goes on to tell us that as an incentive to read all the crap we have to read, she's going to be giving us a lot more quizzes. Boo.
After that I ate breakfast, and then I went to German. After German I went to religion where we're starting to learn about Confucianism and stuff, so hopefully this will be interesting! After religion, I had my religion discussion where we spent the whole class reading the I Ching, and pretty much the only thing that happened was that my T.A. would read a passage and then say he had no idea what it meant, so we moved on to a different passage. It was complete waste of my time.
After discussion, I ate lunch, and then I did some homework before going to work. After work I saw that I had a package slip on my desk, and I thought it was going to be a book I ordered from one of my classes, but when I picked it up, it ended up being a package from Kelley!!! It was the best day of my life. She sent me some cookies and some chocolate covered pretzels which I ate about half of already, and she also sent me a movie, and a beautiful card!! I took a picture of all the wonderful stuff.
Maritza and I went to dinner, and then I decided to go to the honors building because I had a lot of homework to do and I needed a quiet place to do it. I ended up being in the honors building until 11, and then I walked to the lobby of my residence hall and stayed there until 1. I was starting to fall asleep, so I came back to my room where Maritza was already sleeping, and I went to bed.

Today was the last day with the 'rents. We woke up this morning and ate breakfast at the hotel, and then we went to Wal-Mart. I'm going to miss sleeping in a squishy queen-sized bed now!! But oh well, it was a nice two nights! At Wal-Mart, we got the groceries that I needed, but the saddest thing happened at the check-out! I had a family-sized bag of cheese sticks, and when the cashier rang it up, it said that we weren't allowed to buy them!!! The cashier thought there was a recall or something. But that made me so sad because I love cheese sticks!
After Wal-Mart, we dropped me back off at my room, and then I said goodbye! Now I won't get to see them until Thanksgiving!! But I'm so glad they came out for the weekend because it was a nice mini vacation from school!!
After that I went straight to the library to work on all the stuff I had to do. I finished my English homework I was working on last night which took about an hour, and then I had to watch a German movie that was almost 2 and a half hours long. The movie was called Nirgendwo in Afrika, and it was actually really good! It was super intense and interesting! After that, I forced myself to write my whole German essay that's due tomorrow! I had to plow through it because I just wanted to get it done!!! When I finally finished it was a little after 5, and I was super hungry, so I went to Chipotle! I got it to-go, and then I ate my amazing dinner in my room, and I even had a piece of fudge for dessert that we got from Amana yesterday! It was such a a satisfying dinner.
After dinner I worked on some more homework, and then Maritza got back from her dinner that she had. She had Chinese, and she brought back a bunch which really bummed me out because I love Chinese! But we just stuck it in the fridge to eat later! Then we caught up with each other because we didn't really have a chance to talk at all this weekend. I stayed up pretty late tonight working on more homework, and I decided that this week is also going to be pretty terrible. Thanksgiving better come fast!

Today was a nice, long day! Since Mom and I both didn't want to go to the football game today, Mom and Dad looked into this town about a half hour from the hotel called Amana where they had little shops and such. Originally we thought it was an Amish town, but after awhile we discovered they weren't Amish. Being in the town literally felt like we stepped back in time, though. Everything was so old. The town was apparently originally inhabited by German descendants because many things were in German, and I spent some of my time today translating German. So that was pretty cool.
The town had a few sections to it, so we started off in the main area where a majority of the shops were. It was freezing in the morning, but by noon it was a really nice day! We bought some stuff in the shops which were all really cute, and then we drove to a different part of the town. There was this one place that had Iowa's largest rocking chair, so I took a picture sitting in it. It was so big!! I think I pulled a muscle climbing onto the footrest to get into the chair haha.
We also toured this really cold and huge barn that had a bunch of model barns and building on display. That was pretty cool because everything was so detailed. After stopping at a few more shops, we went to eat at a German restaurant. The dinner was pretty good, but I wasn't very hungry to begin with, so I was so full by the end of dinner.
After that, we had about an hour to kill so we went back to the hotel before we had to go to the IMU for family game night.
At game night, there were games we could play like Bingo and such, and you if you won the games, you got raffle tickets! All the raffle baskets were pretty lame because it was, like, cleaning supplies and school supplies, but they did have two i-pad minis, so Mom, Dad, and I put all the tickets we won into the i-pad mini bucket which was definitely the most full. We did not win, though.
After that, we headed back to the hotel, and I stayed up until about 1 reading my English homework, and when I started getting loopy, I decided it was time to go to bed.

Today was another busy Friday, and it was also the start of family weekend!
I had my 8:30 class this morning, and then I went to breakfast. I spent the time in between breakfast and work by trying to do some homework. I ended up brainstorming some ideas for a paper which was a step in the right direction because I have a pre-write type thing due on Thursday that involves research, so at least I have some idea of what I want to write about!
After eating lunch and doing a little bit more homework, I went to work. After work, I had a text from Mom saying that they were just getting to the hotel and she asked if I could pick up our bag full of tickets and stuff for the weekend, so I did. I went back to my room, and they parked, and then we met outside of my residence hall. We walked to the Hamburg Inn where we decided to eat dinner. It was super crowded and the table we got was squished in a corner, but it was fine. We got our food, and then afterwards we walked to the theater where the show was going to be tonight. We were seeing a mentalist which was part of family weekend. No one I talked to knew what a mentalist was, but we did a little research and found out it was someone who read minds.
The first act was a magician who apparently does shows all over the world and who used to work for Disney. He was pretty great. Then the mentalist did his thing. It was so mind-blowing. I have no idea how any of it worked. I took this picture of one of his acts where a few people from the audience worked together to pick a phone number out of a phone book he had, and then he unrolled a scroll that he wrote before the show, and it was the same number on the scroll. It was crazy.
When the show was over, we walked back to my room so I could pack my clothes for the weekend, and then we drove to the hotel. I decided to stay with them for the weekend because it seemed like a nice vacation. When I got to the hotel, I realized I forgot to pack pajamas which really sucked, but the hotel was too far away to drive back to get some, so I just improvised. I then did some homework before going to bed.

This morning I had work at 8 which went fine. While I was eating breakfast in the library cafe area, I reread the poems we needed to read for today. After that I went to German, and then I went to lunch. After lunch I went to my lit class where we talked about the poems, and then we got our tests back right when class was over! I ended up getting a 101 which really surprised me, but I was pretty happy about that haha. I ended up getting full points on the short answer portion, and my teacher left a note which I thought was funny, so I took a picture of it. Before the test I had gone in and asked questions about it, and I told him I was nervous, so he wrote "Good thing you were worried" in my answer booklet. It made me laugh when I read it.
After that I tried to finish my honors reading before class, but I got tired, so I took a short nap instead. My honors class was nice except me and my group partner were super loopy today, so we just laughed through pretty much everything we were supposed to be doing.
After that I went to dinner, and then I spent the rest of the evening relaxing and doing the only homework I had for my English class tomorrow. I tried to get more homework done because I wouldn't be able to do any this weekend, but my mind was dead, so that didn't happen.

Today was the day of my test!! That means after today my homework shouldn't be too bad! Right!? I decided to wear my new cardigan that I got from Old Navy today, and I thought it was super cute! So I took a picture of me wearing my new cardigan! I like it.
So I had my 8:30 class this morning, and my plan was to study a little bit after a quick breakfast, but I ended up staying at breakfast up until the time I had to leave for German, but that was okay. I had German, and then I went right to my test. I felt pretty good about the test. My hand was falling off from writing so much, and I felt like there was a lot to do within the time, but I completed everything, and I felt better than the last test we took in this class!
When I got back to my room, I ate some ravioli and the most devastating thing happened to me while I was eating it! I was also reading at the same time I was eating, so I didn't notice that my bowl was perched on the edge of my desk, and all of a sudden my ravioli bowl slipped off my desk and fell in my lap. It was the saddest moment of my life. And I was wearing a white tank top :(. Luckily I had another white tank top to change into, and I also switched my pants because the ones I was wearing did not look okay. And after I was done cleaning up, my raviolis were cold from sitting for so long! So devastating. After a few hours I went to work, and then I met Maritza for dinner. I finished my lit homework so that I could go to class tomorrow, and then I was up pretty late doing other homework before I went to bed.

October 22, 2013
Happy Tuesday. I have a feeling after tomorrow all my stress will be gone because my stupid test will be over. So I woke up this morning and worked some more on the other article I wanted to read last night. By the time it was time for me to go to class, I only had three pages left. I went to German, and then I went straight to the library. I made a decision last night to skip my lit class because 1) I didn't do the reading and 2) I could use the hour and fifteen minutes doing homework. So I sat in the library and ate lunch and did homework. It took me about an hour to get the three pages of the article done, and then I spent about two hours reading thirty pages for my English class about the medieval period. It was really frustrating, but I was determined to get it done before going to work, and I got done with about five minutes to spare.
I went to work and then I went back to my room. Maritza wanted to get dinner later, so we went a little after 6, and then I walked back to my room only to leave five minutes later. I had a mandatory thing to go to tonight for my English class. It was a one person performance of Beowulf, which was just about as exciting as it sounds. It was definitely...interesting. Except they should not have turned the lights off because I was falling asleep. I took this picture of the lady performing part of the poem with her harp. It's such a creepy picture, but it was a pretty creepy set-up. It was only supposed to be an hour and a half, but we took an unnecessary 15 minute intermission after about a half hour into it, and when the clock reached 8:45 and she still wasn't done, I just left. I had to study for my test and I didn't know how much longer she was going to go on playing her harp, and I wasn't paying attention anyway. Elena told me later that she only went on for another five minutes, but it was a relief to get out of there.
When I got back to my room, I read the last two articles I had for my religion test, and then I finished the leftover homework I still had left for tomorrow. I finished by studying some notes, and then I went to bed.

Each week I keep saying that after this week school is going to be better, but that has not happened. I thought last week was bad because of all my essays and midterms, but this week is also going to be bad because all of my research papers for this semester are starting to happen and it's very overwhelming. I also have a test on Wednesday that I haven't studied for yet.
So today was really stressful because I knew I had a lot of work to do for tomorrow, and I wasn't sure how I was going to do it. I made a plan for studying, which was also stressful because I had a few articles to reread and they were both long and took a lot of concentration to figure out what they were saying. I took this screenshot of my sticky note on my computer at some time tonight. The only thing I ended up doing was reading the two articles for my test and the study guide, the rest of the stuff I completely ignored. So that was great. My lit reading was "Song of Myself" which is pretty much forty pages of a confusing poem. I read half of it and had no idea what was going on, so I gave up.
I was up pretty late working on my study guide, and then I started on the second article I had to read. I started falling asleep while reading the article, so I decided to go to bed and finish the article tomorrow morning.

Today was my last day home! Kyle, Kelley, and I decided to spend the day by visiting Grandma. Kelley had to leave by 11, and by the time we woke up and got ready, we didn't really have much time to spend at Grandma's. We sat around and chatted for awhile. It was nice to see her, like always. After about an hour there, Joe came to pick Kelley up, and they were a little late leaving because Grandma kept talking, and then she wanted to show Joe her Elvis room, but eventually they did leave. Kyle and I stayed after that, and I left about an hour later in order to do some homework before I had to get on the bus.
My bus was at 5, so we left the house at 3ish. I was able to do some homework in between Grandma and leaving the house, and I also managed to pack my bag. I had to include my winter stuff in my packing because it's starting to get cold already and I need to be prepared!
I said bye to my pup pup, and then we drove to the mall so I could board the bus. I ended up spending half my trip reading for two different classes, and then when I started to get tired of reading, I listened to some music. I definitely fell asleep on the bus ride home which was nice because it was super dark on the bus, but when I woke up I had no idea where I was.
I got back in the IC later that night, and when I got back to my room I caught up with Maritza, and then I spent the rest of the night doing homework for tomorrow.

Today was the reason why I came home for the weekend! So this place near where I live has this thing every year called Trail of History, and this year is the last year they're doing it, so Kyle asked if we wanted to come home to go to it!
Mom made waffles for breakfast which were amazing because the waffles in the dining hall are gross, so it was nice to have real waffles again. Then we took showers, and by the time we were all ready, it was about noon. It closed at four, so we had a nice four hours there. The last and only time I had been at Trail of History when I was in elementary school a long time ago, and the trail part seemed to last a lot longer than it did this time. The premise is pretty much that you take this trail thing and eventually it leads you to this big open field type thing that has all these tents of stuff that's replicating things from a long time ago.
We got to the field right when the jugglers started, and the show was pretty good. They were pretty funny, and they were really good at juggling too, except each act was really short so it was hard for me to get pictures of them doing the cool stuff. The pictures I took of the jugglers turned out really cool because of the sky.
It was pretty cold today, but it was fine when the sun was out and when it wasn't windy. After the jugglers, Kyle got some soup, and Dad, Kelley, and I all got hot beverages to consume. Then we went over to where some people were apparently reenacting a Revolutionary War battle, but it wasn't too exciting. When that was over, we took a tour of some of the tents, and we stood by some fires to warm up. Then it started to rain. A lot of people left, so we decided to heat to the food since the lines weren't super long. I got some chili which was pretty good, and then Kelley and I bought some root beer which we had memories about from the last time we were here. It was the best root beer we've ever had, and we don't think it's carbonated, so I don't count it as drinking pop. Then we spent the rest of our time walking around to the different tents.
On our way out we were able to plant some trees! They were doing this thing where there was, like, 1500 trees or something, and they were having people plant them on the way out, so we each took a tree, and we planted them! It was super great, and we got our hands dirty. After that we headed home where Mom had made a big dinner for us of turkey and stuffing and stuff. It was really good.
Kelley and I then went to Old Navy because they were having a cheap cardigan sale today, and I got a cardigan and a sweatshirt! After that I drove home and decided to do some homework tonight.

Today was a very busy day! But it was great because I got to look forward to going home all day! I had my 8:30 class this morning, and afterwards I ate breakfast, and then I had to run back to the same building I was just in for my class to attend a meeting. The meeting started at 10:30 and the guy giving the meeting talked for about a half hour about Moby Dick and I was getting real tired while he was talking about it. The meeting lasted until 11:30, and Elle was there! But I had to leave right after it was over to go to work. I told my boss that I wanted to come in early to work today so that I could take the bus home. The bus left at 2:15, and I usually work at 3 on Fridays, so obviously that couldn't have worked out.
After work I quickly grabbed a sandwich from the library, and then I ate it while running back to my room so that I could grab my bag and get on the bus. It was the craziest afternoon of my life trying to run everywhere. But I did get on the bus on time, and I'm pretty sure it was the earliest I've ever boarded the bus haha. I then had a four hour bus ride of just listening to music. We got to the mall early because it was the only stop we had to take. It was super cold out for October, so nobody was dressed to wait outside for their parents, but most of us had to since the bus arrived early.
Mom and Dad were there about five minutes later, and then we went and ate at Buffalo Wild Wings, and it was so satisfying after eating my tiny sandwich on the run for lunch.
After that, we headed home, and I was so impatient to get home because it was such a long day on the run; I just wanted to get out of a car. But when I did get home, I got to see my pup! She was very excited to see me, of course, and we hugged. I took this picture of her being adorable.
I spent the night doing nothing in particular because I didn't feel like doing anything. Mom picked Kyle up from the train station later, and Kelley arrived back later after that, and we were all home then!

Today is the day where my life officially becomes easier!!!!!!! I literally could not wait for today to be over. I slept terribly last night because I felt like I needed to study more. I honestly had no idea what to expect for the midterm, and I was so nervous about it.
I woke up at 7 and took a shower so I could head to work. Work went pretty fast today because half the time I was trying to find this pamphlet that was lost, and I never found it, but looking for it made the time go by fast. After that I bought some fruit and a muffin in the library, and I dropped the muffin on the ground which was the saddest moment of my life. I ended up just pulling the muffin top off and eating the rest even though the muffin top is the best part. I also tried to study while I was eating, but it didn't really work out too well.
Then I went to German where we, thankfully, didn't have a quiz today because she made it a take-home quiz instead.
After that I had a few hours before my midterm!!! I printed off my essay, and then I sat and did some last minute studying before heading to class. I did not eat lunch before going because I was so nervous, and on the way there I started feeling nauseous because I felt I was going to get the test and then no none of the answers. Everyone in class was super anxious, and we were talking about how much of a fail it was going to be. Then my teacher handed out the tests, and it wasn't so bad. I felt like I at least kind of knew all of the answers, and it was such a relief to realize that my studying did actually help! Some people got done within a half hour which was crazy. I was only half-way done when the left. I ended up finishing after about an hour, and I turned in my essay and me test, and I walked back to my room.
It had been overcast all morning, and when I stepped outside, the sun was out as if it knew my day had just gotten brighter. It was such a relief to get that over with. I was prepared to get back to my room and celebrate with Maritza, but she was not there, so I made myself some lunch, and I settled in to do the reading that was due for my honors class later today. I ended up getting really tired, so I took a nap instead of finishing my reading because we usually don't talk about our readings anyways. When I woke up, I went to class, where it was the great last class of my day. We had our usual discussion and my teacher handed out bananas and oreos because we were having our "midterm review" which just meant playing a game and eating oreos because we don't take tests in that class. In the last half hour class we played the game which was pretty fun, and my team did not get in last place which was nice.
After that I wasn't very hungry because of my oreos and banana, but I went to dinner anyway. After that, Maritza and I went back to our room, and I started working on my one homework assignment due tomorrow, and I also started doing my laundry.
At 9 we went down to the lobby because they were having a pumpkin painting event! When we got there, it was really dark, and I realized they were playing Hocus Pocus which is pretty much the Halloween movie from my childhood. Maritza and I painted our pumpkins and ate some cookies and such. We stayed for about half of the movie, and then we went back to our room so I could finish my homework. My goal for tonight was to be in bed at a decent time, but by the time I was finally done with my homework that was due tomorrow, it was already 1:30 in the morning. Ugh. But we did go to bed eventually.

Happy Wednesday!
Today I woke up early to go to my 8:30 class, and I was already pumped about being down with my tests by tomorrow evening! We talked more about Beowulf today, and then I ate breakfast by myself because Maritza had gotten out of class earlier than usual. After breakfast, I had a few minutes to do nothing before going to German. After German, I went to religion where we already started talking about our text that's next Wednesday. I can't believe we're already taking another test in that class. And I really don't even want to begin thinking about it since I haven't even taken my test for tomorrow!!
After religion I sat in my room for the two hours I had before work, and I edited my other essay that's due tomorrow, and I made great progress! I also finished the last paragraph and my conclusion, so the whole thing's written! Hooray! I just need to edit now, though.
After that I quickly ate lunch before going to work. I ate dinner after work, and then I finished my German homework, and I reread my lit essay. I had to force myself to write a conclusion which was pretty hard because I hate writing conclusions, but I wrote one, and it's not the greatest, but it'll have to do. I also finished editing my other essay, so both my essays are officially done!
I called Kyle tonight, and we set up my printer so I could print off my essay since my money is almost gone on my school printer account.
Then I printed off my other essay, and it looked so beautiful! Then I had to do the last of my studying for my midterm tomorrow, and then I went to bed.
I took this picture on my way to work. It's one of my favorite views on campus, walking down this walkway during the fall because the trees are so beautiful and they hang over the walkway. If I was a little farther you could also see the Old Capitol Building through the gap of the trees, and it's so beautiful! So I took a picture of it today even though it was even more beautiful last week.

Here is a picture of my list that I made yesterday of all the things I needed to do yesterday, today, and tomorrow in order to not die tomorrow night trying to get everything done. After yesterday happened and I realized that I got almost everything done that I wanted to get done last night, I felt a little bit less stressed today then I did yesterday!
I woke up at 9 this morning and started working on some English homework that I have due tomorrow. I also submitted the first of my three papers that are due this week, and it was nice to get that out of my life. I ate breakfast and then I went to German. Straight from German I went to my teacher's office hours to have him read over my lit essay, and he said it was pretty good, so that made me feel better seeing as I pretty much wrote the whole thing last night. After that I went and sat in the library for the two hours I had before going to work. I used a meal swipe in the library cafeteria to buy some lunch, and then I sat on the second floor and ate my lunch while mostly just doing my German homework. When I wasn't doing my German homework, I was working on the other essay that I have due on Thursday. Then I went to work which passed quickly, and I met with Maritza to go to dinner. When I got back from dinner I worked on my homework, and some time throughout the night I decided to take a picture of my to-do list because it made me happy to see all the things crossed off. I had written two paragraphs of my other essay, and I had finished my German homework. I finished my Beowulf reading for tonight, and then I decided to go sit in a different lounge in my residence hall to study for my lit midterm. Studying was the last thing to check off for tonight, and when I was done with that, it was 11:30, and it was the happiest moment of my life to walk back up to my room at 11:30 and be done with all the things I needed to check off my list! Tomorrow's the last day of being stressed out before my midterm on Thursday! I just can't wait for it to be over.

October 14, 2013
I don't think I've ever been as stressed out as I was today. I woke up this morning to go to my English class at 8:30, and we talked about Beowulf in class. We also learned about the history of Beowulf and what is believed the political/religious background was like at the time when it was written.
After class I ate breakfast with Maritza, and then I quickly did some of my homework due tomorrow to get that out of the way so I could focus on other things tonight. After that I went to German where we talked about this book we had just started over the weekend. We're reading an easy reader which is pretty much a kid's book, but it's really nice because it makes me feel like I can really understand German!
After German, I went to my religion class, and then I went to my religion discussion where we had the first okay discussion of the year! Yay! After that I ate lunch in my room and started working on my German homework before heading over to work. While I was working my boss asked me how my week was going and I told him I was super stressed, then after that I went to dinner with Maritza, and I went straight from dinner right back to the library. I got there a little before six, and I sat in this one area that was super quiet and awesome, but after about an hour some really loud jazz music started to play on the other side of the wall, and I couldn't concentrate, so I had to move. The library was super packed, and it was so hard to find an empty table because it's midterm week, but eventually I found one on the fourth floor. I settled in for the rest of my night there. I took this picture of all my stuffs spread out on the table. Some stuff was also hiding behind my laptop, but this was my view for the whole night. I was so super productive that it surprised me. Once I sat down I did nothing but homework, and it was such a miracle. I finished my German, and I revised my lit essay to a point that I was actually proud of it. I thought it was a pretty awesome paper! All I had left to write was a conclusion! I also started studying for my lit test on Thursday, and I studied all that I wanted to study tonight. At 11 I made the terrible decision to go back to my room before starting my other paper that's due on Thursday, so I went back to my room. Maritza was already in bed, and once I climbed in bed to do homework, I got super distracted by the internet, and I did not do any homework, so eventually I convinced myself to just go to bed.

October 13, 2013
As soon as I woke up this morning, I grabbed my laptop and wrote three body paragraphs for the paper I was working on yesterday. They were really bad paragraphs, but at least I had paragraphs which was more than I could say about yesterday's progress! I think my brain was working while I was sleeping because I woke up and all of sudden I knew what I wanted to say.
After the hour and a half it took me to do that, I got out of bed and took a shower to move on with my day.
After Maritza got back from church we went to brunch, and then I worked on homework for pretty much the rest of the day. I tried to do my religion reading in the lounge in my resident hall but someone started chewing tobacco and spitting it into a cup in the lounge. What?! That's not okay. I couldn't handle the noise of his nasty spit, so I left and went back to my room. Maritza had disappeared to somewhere to work on her homework, so I worked in my room. I started reading Beowulf for my English class which I thought was going to be really terrible and hard to understand, but it definitely was not, so that was nice! When I asked Maritza if she wanted to go to dinner, she asked if I wanted to go a few hours later. So we ended up meeting up at Which Wich a little after 7. Here is a picture of Maritza eating her sandwich haha. It cracks me up. Which Wich was good like always, and it was also a nice break from homework.
When I got back to my room, I started working on my paper again, and then I started thinking that my topic was a little too broad because it was only supposed to be a 1000 word paper, and I felt like I could go on for 1000 words for all of my paragraphs, so I went to bed tonight thinking about changing my paper once again.

October 12, 2013
So today was both totally productive and totally unproductive at the same time. I decided the only way to live my life today would be in the library because I had to do so much work. So after I woke up and ate breakfast, I headed over to the library. I sat for a few hours in this one section, and I worked on my lit paper and my German homework. When people came and sat down and were being super loud, I moved to a different section and continued to work on my paper. I had reread both the stories I was planning on writing about, and I picked out quotes. I had also made an outline, but every time I tried writing the paper I would get super stuck, and it was really stressing me out because I mentally could not write the paper.
At around 5ish I headed back towards my room to meet with Maritza so we could go to dinner. After dinner I tried working on my paper for a little bit more, and then at 7:30 we headed over to the theater building. I told Maritza a week ago that I wanted to go to her play tonight because it was the most convenient time.
She came with me, but she sat backstage the whole time because she would have had to pay for a ticket if she wanted to sit in the audience, and she had already gone on Thursday, so she didn't want to buy another ticket.
I took this picture of the play towards the beginning. The play was really good and suuuper intense. It was pretty sad, too. But mostly it was funny and intense.
After the play, we walked back to our room, and a spent a few more hours figuring out my paper before finally deciding to change the prompt. Our teacher gave us four prompts to choose from, so after working on the paper all day and getting nowhere, I changed my prompt. So I started all over. I used one of the stories I was going to use for the last paper, and then I chose a poem so that it wouldn't take long to read. I made a really quick outline, and then I went to bed because I was so stressed about the stupid paper.

Hooray for Friday!! Except this weekend is going to be really terrible since next week is going to be really tough! Three papers and a midterm...I can't wait. I had my 8:30 class this morning where we praised my T.A. for pushing back our paper until Tuesday. We went over our midterms today that we took last Wednesday, and then we talked about English-y stuff.
After that I went to breakfast with Maritza, and then I had a few hours before meeting with my research teacher. When I met with her, I told her about all the work I had next week, so she told me that we wouldn't meet next week, and then we wouldn't meet the week after that because she's going to be out of town. So that was nice of her.
After that I ate lunch, and then I had to go to work a little bit later. After work I ate dinner, and then I finally started on my homework. I decided that I needed to finish my essay due Tuesday tonight, and finish another paper tomorrow, and another paper on Sunday, and I should be fine. I did end up finishing my English paper tonight, which was nice. But before that happened, I got a facebook message from Chelsea asking me if I wanted to go to a improv show with her tonight. I said yes! She wanted to meet at 10ish, so I quickly finished my paper before that, and then I went down to the lobby to meet her. We walked to the improv show. It was in the basement of a church building thing, and it was soooooooooo hot in there. It was pretty disgusting. There was also so many people that people were sitting on the floors. I took this picture when everyone in the group was first on stage. It was a pretty hilarious show, and I definitely want to go back again! By the time I got back to my room, it was midnight. I quickly reread my essay, and then I decided to go to bed.

This morning I was soo tired when I woke up and went to work. I was falling asleep at work and it was really bad, but by the time I was done working, I was pretty awake. After work, I got a blueberry muffin in the library, and it was so delicious!!! When I was done with my muffin, I had to go to German where we didn't do much in class. Since we didn't have homework for today, we just watched a music video and talked about it. Then I went back to my room for an hour before going to my lit class.
When I got back to my room, I went on Facebook, and I saw this status from my friend, and I loved it so much. Then I went to my lit class even though I had 0 motivation to go. But I went because it's the last class we have before our midterm next Thursday. It was a pretty boring class today, but maybe that was because I was still so tired.
After that class I had a few hours, and then I went to my honors class. I talked to Chelsea during that class about this status, and she remarked on how ridiculous all the responses were to it because we were all excited that she had a dream about getting punched in the face haha. And then we talked for a while about John Green, and it was great. After my honors class I got dinner, and then I spent the rest of the night during homework.

I had my 8:30 class this morning where we took a quiz on the reading we did last night about research papers. Haha I aced that quiz. For the rest of the class we had a librarian come in to tell us how to find different sources through the library's website and such. The librarian's cubicle is right next to my boss's cubicle, so that was cool that he gave a presentation to our class since I see him every day.
After class I ate breakfast, and then I went to German. I had a German test today, and my teacher was so awesome and cancelled the homework that was due for tomorrow, so now I can work on my five billion papers that I have in my life!!
After German I had my religion class. My teacher was out of town today, so instead we watched a movie the whole time about funeral rituals in Tibet. After that I went to the post office because someone bought one of my books from Amazon, and while I was there the lady asked if I needed anything else, so I bought some stamps. I bought the cutest stamps available, and then I took a picture of them because I've always loved these stamps! I ate lunch, and then I went to the library to meet with a librarian that's helping out with my honors class. We were supposed to meet with her to discuss our research papers we have due at the end of the semester, and she helped me find sources for my research paper.
After that I had a half hour before work so I just sat in a chair and waited until it was 3 o'clock. After work Maritza and I ate dinner, and then I got the most amazing e-mail from my T.A. which said that she was pushing back our paper that was due on Friday until Tuesday, and it was the best news of my life!! Although now that means I have three papers due next week and a midterm to take. I'm so pumped for next week.
So instead of stressing about my paper, I decided to work on my homework that was due tomorrow, and that's how I spent my night.

This morning I got to sleep in until 9, and it was amazing. I took a shower, and then I got ready, and I ate some breakfast in my room, and then I went to German. After German I ate lunch, and then I went to my lit class where we had a really good discussion about the readings we did last night. We read some short stories by Nathaniel Hawthorne, and I really liked them, so the class was really interesting.
After that I walked to the basement of the building to meet with my English T.A. I wanted to talk to her about my paper that's due on Friday, and I was there for about an hour just asking her questions. But she's awesome, so it was cool.
After that I had about a half hour before going to work, so I just sat in the library before working. After work Maritza and I waited again before going to dinner, and then she had rehearsal again right after dinner.
I wrote more of my paper tonight, and I also did more homework. We have to read the MLA Handbook for my English class since we're learning how to write research papers, and tonight's reading was all about formatting the research paper which included instructions on how to bind your paper once you're done. I thought it was the most pointless thing I've ever had to read in my life, so I took a picture of it. The part I circled in the picture tells you that most people use staples to bind their papers. That reading was such a waste of my time. But at least it's easy reading!

Today the weather said it was going to be in the sixties all day today, so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to whip out my sheep sweater!!! It's the best sweater in the world, and I take every chance I have to wear it!!! So of course I took a picture of me wearing it since it's awesome.
So I threw that on after I took a shower, and then I was off to my 8:30 class. This week we're learning how to write research papers which I think is kind of ridiculous because if anybody has made it this far without writing a research paper, their life has been really nice.

Happy last day of the weekend. I can't believe it's already Sunday. I'm not ready for it to already be Sunday. Maritza had to go rehearsal again today because they show opens on Thursday, so I was lonely again today. Except she didn't have to leave until after church, so we still ate lunch together. While she was at church I decided to go shopping, and I bought some stuff from Ragstock and CVS before heading back to my room. After lunch I worked on homework for a while, and then only a few hours later Maritza got a dinner break from practice.
We decided to go out to eat for dinner tonight since the dining hall was closed. We went to Hamburg Inn because apparently that's the place we go when we go places. I had a taste for diner food, so I asked Maritza if she wanted to go there. Since we weren't really hungry because we had just eaten lunch a few hours before, we waited until the last possible moment to go to the restaurant. It was kind of drizzly out so we took coats, and then we got there, and I ordered a Reuben, and Maritza ordered pancakes. I also ordered a side of fruit not thinking about the amount of gross melons I would receive. When I got my fruit cup, it consisted of one watermelon and all honeydew melon. So I ate my watermelon and left the rest. I also had a side of mac and cheese which made up for my disappointing fruit.
The food was super good, and we had to rush to finish so Maritza could get back to rehearsal. I spent the rest of the night doing more homework. Homework is pretty much the only thing I'll be doing for the next few weeks.

I woke up this morning completely determined to be very productive! So productive that I made today a bun day! I like bun days. After my shower I threw my hair into a bun, and I put on my Beat MSU shirt that I got yesterday in the downpour, and I looked extremely ready to head to the football game....but instead I was only going to the library. I took a picture of me looking very festive, and then I headed out. I thought today would be a good day to spend in the library since the library is usually empty on weekends, and it would be extra empty today since everyone would be at the football game.
I settled in for a long day seeing as my plan today was to write a paper that is due on Monday. It took me the first two hours to just plan what I was going to write about and the quotes I wanted to use, and then by 4 o'clock (When Maritza and I were meeting to go to dinner), I had written an intro and my first paragraph which was over 500 words. That was pretty ridiculous, and my paper has a maximum word count of 1500...so I hoped my other paragraphs wouldn't be that long.
After dinner, I went to the lounge in my residence hall for the first time. It was super quite, and the chairs and table were really nice, so it was a great place to do homework. I ended up finishing the rest of my paper there, and by the time I was done, it was 7 o'clock, and I was able to fit it within the word count! It was a nice relief to get that paper out of my life, though.
After that I just hung out in my room for the rest of the evening doing other homework. These upcoming weeks are going to be pretty crazy. I counted, and I have 6 papers and a midterm to do in the month of October. Is it Thanksgiving yet?

Happy Friday!!!! Fridays are the best kind of days!!! I woke up at 7:30 this morning feeling really refreshed because I had no work due today, and I didn't feel like being stressed out about anything, so I wasn't! Before I left for class I debated on whether or not to bring an umbrella because it was overcast out, but I decided to only settle with a raincoat because it looked like the type of overcast that is only overcast and not actually rain. In my English class, I finally learned how to write my paper that's due next Friday because we had to read this really confusing article and then somehow connect it to the Tempest, and we learned how to do that today!
After class I had to run to my German teacher's office because I asked if I could meet with her today to go over my essay that's due on Monday, and she said to meet her at 9:30, and my English class gets out at 9:20, so I had to run to her office. While I was in her office going over the essay, it got super dark outside and it started to downpour like crazy!! It was ridiculous. All I had was my raincoat, so I put it on, and then walked over to the mall which was only about a block away, but by the time I got there I was completely drenched. I got a free shirt for our homecoming game tomorrow, and then I set off into the rain again (which seemed to be coming down harder than before) and I headed back to my room. I was so wet that I wasn't even bothering to jump over puddles because there was no point. My pants were completely soaked, and the water was running down my face. When I finally got back to my room, I was dripping, and then I took this picture of me being soaked even though you can't really tell.
I had to change my pants and my shirt because parts of my shirt got wet, and then I had to take everything out of my backpack to dry because the bottom of everything got wet.
After that excitement, I had a few hours before meeting with my honors research teacher. I was only there for a few minutes, and then I went to eat lunch. I had a few more hours between lunch and work, and then I went to work. Maritza and I got dinner right after I got off work, and then we headed downtown for the homecoming parade! Maritza told me while we were waiting for the parade to start that she had never actually been to a parade before, so that was crazy. It lasted a pretty long time. It started around 5:45, and it wasn't over until after it was dark out. It was pretty humid out after the rain, so it was kind of uncomfortable, but after the sun went down, it started to cool off. We grabbed some ice cream after the parade, and then we walked back to our room.
I spent the rest of the night reading, and then I went to bed. It was a pretty eventful day!

Happy Birthday to a very special Dad out there!!!!
Today was my very long day of the week, because it's Thursday. I woke up at 7 and took a shower, and then I was on my way to work. I was sooo tired at work today that I would have given anything to be able to just lay down and go to sleep. But I powered through without falling asleep! I had a few minutes to kill before heading to German so I bought a fruit cup and ate that along with my banana that I had brought with. I took a picture of my fruit breakfast because it was delicious. Also, I was even a good girl and ate all the honeydew melon and cantaloupe in the fruit cup even though I hate those fruits with a passion. I ate them first, and everything else was delicious!
After that I went to German, and then I went to lunch. After lunch I had a few minutes, and then I went to my lit class where we talked about some of Poe's short stories, and it was the funniest class of the semester. Everybody kept making jokes about the narrators, and it was pretty great.
After that I had a few hours to kill before going to my honors class, and by this time I was ready to pass out. I don't remember if I took a nap, but I probably did.
In my lit class I started to get slap-happy and at one point I was laughing so hard that I was crying, and this happened a few times within a few minutes because I couldn't get over what my group was discussing.
After that I went to dinner, and then I spent the rest of the night doing nothing!! I had no homework for my one class tomorrow, so I was a free woman! It was a pretty awesome night. I did some laundry, and I called Dad about 7 times to wish him a Happy Birthday and was frustrated that he didn't answer his phone, so finally I called the house and Mom reminded me that he had class tonight haha. He called me later, though, and we talked for a little bit. Happy Birthday, Dad!!

I had my English midterm this morning! It went well, I think. It took the whole class period which was surprising. I thought I would get done early, but almost the whole class was still working by the time the end of class happened. When I was finally done I went to lunch with Maritza, and then I went back to my room to study for my German quiz. I always seem to have big tests on Wednesday, and Wednesdays are the day where I either have a German test or a German quiz every week, so it really sucks having to worry about two things. The next time I have a midterm, it is on a Thursday, and for some random reason that is the only time I have a German test on Thursday. It's like German is trying to make my life painful.
My German quiz was fine today, though, and we actually got out of class early because of it, so that was nice. I went to my religion class where we have now begun to talk about Buddhism. At the end of class they handed out the tests we took last week, so I took a picture of my test, because that's all that was exciting that happened today.
I then ate lunch in my room and chilled for a few hours before I had to go to work. After work we ate dinner, and then I spent the rest of the night doing a billion pounds of homework for tomorrow.

Happy October! I really like October, but the weather has been really dumb lately, and it still feels like July, so I'm not really enjoying it that much right now. It's been in the forties in the morning, and then by afternoon it's in the eighties, so I have no idea what to wear without having to change my clothes five times throughout the day.
So anyway. I got to sleep in until 9 today, and it was wonderful. I actually finished all my homework that was due today before today, so I didn't have any to do in the morning. I ate cereal in my room since I have milk now, and then I went to German. After German I got lunch, and then I went to my lit class. After lit I sat in the library and worked on my German homework to get that out of the way so I could spend the whole night tonight studying for my English midterm tomorrow. I worked on my homework until I had to go to work, and then the best thing ever happened to me on my walk back from work. I saw this girl approaching me from the opposite direction on the sidewalk, and she was walking a CORGI!!!! It was a corgi pup, and it stopped and said hi to two guys that were walking somewhere else, so when it got to me I stopped and petted it! It was the best thing ever. And then I asked her if I could take a picture of him because he was so cute, and she said sure. I asked what his name is, but I'm not really sure what she said, so I don't know what his name is, but isn't he so cute?! He was so little! And his ears are so big and batty!
After that amazing encounter, I walked back to my room and showed Maritza the picture, and then we ate dinner. I spent the whole rest of the evening studying for my English test, and it was pretty exhausting and a whole lot of information to read through, but I managed. I'm not really that nervous, even though I feel like I should be, but oh well. CORGI!
