My birthday excitement pretty much started today so there are a lot of pictures for you to look at if you click the button!!! So I woke up at 10 this morning because I was tired and I didn't feel like getting up at 9. I had to quickly take a shower and eat breakfast in my room while studying for my German quiz! Then I went to German and we took a our quiz and she only gave us 7 minutes to take the whole quiz so that was stressful and I know I for sure got one question wrong...boo (that was an extremely long, run-on sentence). Also in German we did an activity that we did last semester where we go around the room saying, "I'm packing my suitcase and I'm bringing..." and one person says what they're bringing and then the next person has to add something to the list and the list keeps getting bigger and bigger...and I was on the half of the room that went last...so that was fun to remember all those German words.
Then I went to earth science where we learned about volcanoes!!! It was exciting I guess. Then I went back to my room. The walk back to my room was seriously the worst thing that's ever happened to me! It was so cold!! In the button below, you'll find a picture that says it was 8 degrees outside but that it felt like -13...yay. My face was seriously about to fall off. When I finally reached my dorm, I got my mail and I had a package!!! Yay! I was expecting my last book, but it was a package from Kelley! There was a little cupcake on it so the lady who gave it to me asked if it was my birthday and I said it was tomorrow!!! So I brought it back to my room and Kelley told me I should open it so I facetimed her and opened it!! She baked me a bunch of stuff with funfetti and sprinkles and sent them in tupperware in the giant box! The box was also filled with confetti so it's all over our floor now and it keeps sticking to my socks haha. Maritza was MIA until about 6 o'clock, and during that time I was trying to do my homework. I hung up the balloon cut outs that Kelley sent me in my box and now they're above my bed! Yay! Then I did some German. Maritza showered and then ate dinner and then we were on our way to Prairie Lights to read! We had another reading tonight so this is a picture of me reading! Yay! It got over at about 8 and then we went back to our room and I did some homework and I ate dinner and then I watched Boy Meets World until it was my birthday and then I went to bed to sleep until I was well rested for DANCE MARATHON!!!!!

I woke up this morning to a bunch of facebook statuses telling me that it snowed in Iowa City!!! Actually, let me correct that by saying I first woke up because Maritza decided to have Ramen soup for breakfast and she decided to break up her soup really loudly. I threw her a look of death which we laughed about later, but at the moment I was very angry with her hahaha. And who the heck eats soup for breakfast?!!? Am I right?
Anyway, after being loudly awoken by my roommate, I went back to sleep and woke up an hour later which was when I saw all the facebook statuses about the snow. I got to experience myself when I went to breakfast which was when I took this picture! You can see in the picture, but the University of Iowa deals with the problem of snow in the walkways by piling up huge mounds of snow in the middle of the street/walkways. This road that this picture was taken on barely has any cars come down it because it's restricted to the Housing and Dining people of the University, so the snow was just randomly chilling in the road. Contrary to what it looks like, it wasn't that cold outside compared to the days when we first moved back.
I had German today and we were supposed to have a quiz but my German teacher decided to see how well we answered her questions and we did terribly so she said she was giving us an extra day. Then I ran to fiction writing again! My German class got out late again so I had to sprint again...this time on the snow covered sidewalks! And it was snowing too and it was pelting my face and it was terrible. I ended up walking into my class behind my teacher and I was breathing really heavily so I feel like he thinks I'm a weirdo!! That class was fun again because we talked about the stories we had to read and the discussions were fun! Then I went back to my room and ate some raviolis before heading off to my honors class! We had a guest speaker today from the Spanish department who presented on a famous singer from Mexico and he told us that his kids had a snow day! Oh snow days...I miss you!!
Then right after that class, Maritza and I went to check-in for Dance Marathon!!! We got our bags and shirts and we bought fanny packs!!! because we're cool. And we got our tickets to our back messages!! I put a picture of all my stuff in the button below so you can look at it all!! I got lime green socks for being in STAT and raising over $500! Yay! And I'm in love with the duffle bag! After that, we went to dinner even though I wasn't that hungry and then I did some homework and watched Boy Meets World!! I'm glad my life is back to normal after these last two hectic days haha.

Today was another late night because of fiction writing. I guess I should say that on ICON (our online thing here at the University of Iowa where all the class stuff is located) our fiction writing class was shown as 'inactive' so I didn't know what the real homework was until about Saturday...but I still didn't do it until last night and tonight :) So Tuesdays are good days because I only have two classes!! I had German and then I had intro to earth science. My professor for earth science has an accent and today, to test out our clickers, he asked us where we thought he was born and raised. The options were England, Scotland, New Zealand, or South Africa. The correct answer was England...yay! And that's what I learned in that class...haha just kidding... I did learn some real stuff too....
After that, I went back to my room and laid in bed for the rest of the day pretty much. Before the laying, though, I went to my lab teacher's office hours because I left a worksheet there yesterday. Her office was impossible to find because it was in the basement of the basement of the building my class was in and every time I got close to a door that led to where a door to her office was, I kept turning around because I didn't think I was allowed there. But eventually I found my way to the room so it was all good. Maritza did laundry which is when we found out that my residence hall had gotten new washers and dryers!! That's cray. They look super schmancy. When I was finally in my room fer sure, I put on the outfit you can see pictured Our room was super hot again so I changed into sweats so that nothing was sticking to my body and everything was just flowing and not really touching me...it was great. As you can also see, I got another package! Yay! It ended up being my science book...yay...?
The rest of the evening ended up being me doing German homework, my honors homework, and my fiction writing homework. I went to bed at ...and it was great I guess...not really.

Today was my first day of Monday classes!!! It's almost similar to my Wednesday classes, except that instead of fiction writing for 2 hours, I have lab for 2 hours. So I decided not to get breakfast this morning since this it the only day of my week when the noon time is empty so I could eat lunch in the dining hall instead! So I ate some cereal. Then I went to German. After German, I went to lunch even though Maritza warned me against it. I went at 12:30 which is the crazy time when everybody and their brother is eating. It was super crazy but I just went for the shortest line and found a nice chair to sit in at the counter. I ate super fast because I realize that every time I eat by myself, I eat as fast as humanly possible...I don't know why. I wasn't in a hurry...? Then I went back to my room and chilled for a bit before heading off to my lab!!!
I was really nervous about this class because a girl in my hall told me that it's supposed to be really hard and they test you on what rocks look like and such. My teacher ended up being super nice though. She's overly nice. She introduced characteristics of minerals and then we had a large box of rocks that we had to go through and figure out which mineral it was! It was kind of redundant but it was interesting and the time went really fast! After that, I had to sprint a few buildings away to make it to my honors class. That class was also pretty great today because we went over what we read and then had a discussion and it was nice. Yay!
After that, we went back and on our way to our room, we ran into Elle who was decorating her door so we stopped and chatted for a good hour when we should've been doing homework...but whatever. I got a package in the mail which I was waiting all day for because my books should finally be arriving! I was expecting four books today so I was really excited to go pick them up. When I got to the counter, they gave me this tiny package which had this book in it. I need this for my online class but not for a very long time so I was disappointed. Also, you can't tell by this picture, but this book is old with yellow pages and I hate touching it...bleh.
We went to dinner and then once we got back to our room, I got down to business. I had German homework and fiction homework and I ended up staying up until 2 finishing both of them. It was a long day, but I got through it! Mondays are pretty okay!

Today was the last day of my three day weekend!!!!! I woke up a decided that today would be sweatpants day, so that's what it was!!! Outside was a complete icicle!! Barely anybody was outside because the roads and sidewalks were just complete ice and it was impossible to take one step without slipping.
Since I hadn't done any homework this weekend, I thought today was a good day to start on that. Maritza and I both had 40 pages to read for our honors class, but my book hasn't come in yet, so while she was at church, I took her copy and started reading. I read 30 pages and then we went to lunch and then I finished up the rest of the reading and it was actually super interesting!!!! After that was over, I finished the book I started on Friday! Yay!! And then I decided to call Mom :) We talked for awhile and then she had to make dinner so I talked to Dad and he said Jersey misses me...aww :) After that, I went into my room and tried to work on some homework. It didn't really work because I didn't feel like doing anything...so I didn't. I was also dying of heat all day today, and I was sweating if I touched anything, so I finally decided to just lay in bed so that I wouldn't touch anything, and so I didn't have to move.
Eventually we decided to watch a movie so we watched Drop Dead Fred which Maritza found on Youtube...it was an old movie that she liked. It was weird but it was good. After the movie was over, I thought about doing some homework, but it was too painful, so instead I decided to go to bed. Maritza lost her phone while we were watching the movie and we had no idea where it could've gone since we had just seen it while we were on her bed. She was looking all over for it and finally we decided to turn off the lights and have me call it so that she could see if she could see where it lit up. So we did...and we found it...It was in our wall.
With our heater, there are little doors in the wall that we have to open to twist the thing that turns the heat on. One of the doors is under Maritza's bed, and the first time she tried to turn the heat on this year, the door fell off and it's just been chillin on our floor since then. Some how during the movie, her phone magically fell off her bed and fell into the hole that was left by the missing door. It was laying at the bottom of the hole and there were pipes and stuff in the way, so she had to stick her hand inside and pull it out....so naturally I took a picture :). Hahaha...we don't know how it happened.
A few minutes later, she was sitting at her desk and she couldn't find her phone again, but it turns out she just left it on the windowsill...crazy lady.
We had to open the windows while we were sleeping since we were so hot, so that's how we slept! Yay!

I didn't really do anything exciting today...I mostly just laid in bed and read. I read a book for fun and then I started reading for my fiction writing class which wasn't too bad. Around dinner time, one of Maritza's friend came to our room randomly to make her watch Who Framed Roger Rabbit haha he asked her a while ago if she'd seen it and she said no and he was pretty much offended and forced her to watch it today. I also gave him one of my bananas to eat because they were starting to look pretty sad and my room started smelling like banana. While they watched the movie on the floor, I stayed in my bed and updated my blog :) (you're welcome). At around 6:30, the three of us got hungry so we went and got some dinner. When we got back to the room, Maritza continued the movie and I continued doing nothing until it was time for us to go canning!!!!!!!
We bundled up a lot tonight since last night was so cold!!! We got to the IMU right when the canner people got there so we grabbed our stuff and went to our same corner! The people tonight were not as funny as last night but we did get a few drunk people yelling in our faces about how excited they were that we were doing Dance Marathon. One lady actually donated $20 because she used to dance!!! A lot of people donated $5 too and a few donated $10! A lot of people just had change, but that's okay because it's better than nothing!!!! One drunk girl who was friends with one of the girls that was screaming in my face donated a silver dollar because she said she works at a bank and it was a good time to get rid of it haha...so I took a picture with our silver dollar...and I hope you like my cropping skills on my sweatshirt haha I'm lazy and I don't feel like putting effort into cropping out my school's name!
We stayed out until midnight tonight and it was a lot warmer than last night but we were still pretty numb by the time we walked back to the IMU. The lady that was running canning tonight was also canning and one group of canners didn't feel like waiting for her to come back to unlock our boxes so we could count the money, so she found a way to open the boxes without the key and it was surprisingly easy! And the grand total we made tonight was....$166.02!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We each got $83.01 so that's amazing!!!!!! And we thought Friday nights were busier! After counting our monies, we went back to our room and went to bed! Yay for canning!

First of all, disregard my face in this picture haha...I was laying down while I was facetiming Kelley, and that is never a good angle!!
So Happy Weekend to me! I kept forgetting today was Friday and not Saturday because I'm not used to this!!! I woke up at 9 so that I could shower. I ate yogurt and a banana for breakfast and then Maritza came back from class. She decided to take a bus to Wal-mart and I had to go to the bookstore so that I could pick up a notebook from a teacher I had last semester. I actually got pretty hot on the walk there so I was optimistic about the weather since we had to go canning tonight!! (Spoiler alert: I was overly optimistic...)
When I got back, I started reading a book and then I decided to facetime Kelley! I wanted to talk to her and thank her for donating to Dance Marathon!! Woo!! I'm officially able to participate in the dancing in a week!! While we were on the phone, Kelley checked her e-mail and I was able to watch her reaction when she found out she won a scholarship!!! So I took a screenshot of her being happy :) Go Kelley!
We soon ended our facetime, and I went to check my mail, and my copy of the Torah arrived!! I need it for one of my classes haha.
I spent the rest of the day reading when I should've been doing homework but oh well!
At one point, Maritza and I both took naps and then I read some more and it was time to head to the IMU so we could go canning!
When we first got to the IMU, the canning people weren't there so we had to chill there with other canners and be super hot in our bundled up clothes, but eventually they arrived and we picked up our giant t-shirts and cans and we set out. We went to the spot we were at last time, but there were so many people out tonight that that spot was too crazy so we went to a different intersection instead. It was 10 o'clock and there were soooo many drunk people not wearing any coats that it was ridiculous!!! Canning was pretty much the best thing ever hahaha.
First of all, there was a group walking around with lime green t-shirts like the Dance Marathon t-shirts and those people often donated money because they were excited that our shirts matched. One guy said he already donated three times to other canners but he still donated to us and then he dropped his wallet and asked us where a bar was but we had no idea. Then he asked us what the name of the road we were on and eventually he disappeared haha. Then a really drunk guy came up to us and pulled out a bunch of money from his wallet and he asked Maritza how much he just pulled out and she said $4 because she couldn't really count it, but it was actually a lot more. Then he said we could have the money if we bit it and we were all like "what????" and then he said we had to say "Miller, give me your money" and then he put the money in our mouth and walked away...it was really strange but we got a lot of money from so whatever. One girl came up to us and gave us a long speech on how amazing Dance Marathon is and such. One guy asked us to see identification because he said he was "afraid we were going to take the money and go buy booze". Another guy said he would donate if we danced for him...so we did. Eventually we both got really numb so we walked back to the IMU. My face was about to fall off from the freezing cold. We were only out there for an hour and we made a dollar less than we did last time when we were standing out there for over 2 hours!! We each made $37.50!
We walked back to our room and I read some more because I wasn't tired from standing in the cold for an hour. Eventually Maritza went to bed and I went to bed a few hours later.

I had no new classes today, but today was officially the start of my weekend! I had German and then introduction to earth sciences and then I went back to my room and stayed there forever haha. But seriously. After intro to earth sciences, my weekend started! So I went to my room and watched Boy Meets World for a very long long time. I had breakfast and lunch in the dining hall because Maritza had a dinner to go to and I didn't want to eat dinner by myself since that is the worse meal to eat by yourself. So I decided to eat breakfast and lunch in the dining hall so that I could eat dinner in the room with a companion! But Maritza went to her dinner thing and came back and then she wanted to go to a poetry thing so I went with.
It was supposed to be a slam poetry and it was supposed to start at 6 o'clock in the IMU so I went down there with her, but when we got there, they told us that for the first hour we would have to sit in a room and listen to people play jazz music...so that's what we did for an hour. We were later accompanied by another girl in our hall, and when it became seven o'clock, we went over to the other room where the poetry was supposed to be.
It wasn't really slam poetry....or at least I don't think it was because I've never been to a slam poetry even before, but it was still really cool. I forgot the name of the group that performed, but it was these two girls. They pretty much just recited poetry and it sounded cool and it was very political and stuff. They seemed like really cool people and I wanted to be their friends hahaha. They made a living touring and performing their show and they opened for a lot of people including Alicia Keys!
After the show was over, we looked at t-shirts for a while and Maritza and Jess each bought a CD, and then we went back to our room. I ate some soup and then I watched more Boy Meets World and went to bed.

Today was another new day of classes!!! It was also a lot warmer out today than it was yesterday...but maybe that's because I was running across campus...more on that in a second.
So I had German again today. It is my earliest class all week and it starts at 11:30 so you can probably guess how amazing this semester is going to be! After German I had fiction writing. Before I went to German, however, I went to check out where my class would be for fiction writing and I found my classroom. After I found the classroom, I decided to time how long it took me to get to German so that I could have a sense of how long it would take me to get from one class to the next since I only have ten minutes in between German and fiction. So it took me 8 minutes to get to my German class at a brisk pace so I figured I would be fine.
German started and it was a fine class and we did a weird speed dating type thing in class where we asked people questions in German and such and it was cool and I learned that most of the people in my class are 20 and older. We were doing other German things when I looked at the clock and realized that the class had gone five minutes over!!! We were supposed to get out at 12:20 and my fiction writing class was supposed to start at 12:30 and the buildings are pretty far away...if I could draw a map for you, I would.
So when I realized that the class was going past it's time, I started to panic, but luckily she let us out right when I was debating on just leaving class. On my way out, someone in my class wanted to talk to me but I had to explain to them that I had five minutes to run to my next class...and then I literally ran. I was wearing my boots, which, let me tell you, are not good running shoes. At one point, I passed an old lady walking her dog and she just stood aside and her and her poofy dog watched me as I jogged past them with my boots and backpack...there is nothing I find more awkward than running in a backpack.
I made it to my class right on time and I was super out of breath and I had to explain the whole thing to Maritza because she's in that class with me!!!! And my nose was running for the rest of that class because of my exertion in the cold. I ended up really liking my fiction class because the teacher seems really cool. It was almost a 2 hour class and he actually filled up the whole time on the first day! After class was over, I went back to my room and ate a late lunch. My feet started getting blisters on them from running in non-running shoes, and then I chilled in my bed for a while until Maritza got back, and then we headed over to our next class! Yes ladies and gentlemen, we have two classes together in one day! This class is our international and global issues class which is also an honors class! And guess who else is in that class...my German teacher!!!? My teacher for that class is from Germany and she has a really heavy accent so my guess is that my German teacher is there to help her or something...I don't know...they just said she was an assistant...so that was weird...we didn't make eye contact. That class got out about 10 minutes early, and Maritza and I walked back to our room together. On our way back, she wrapped her scarf around her head like a cute little grandma and the whole walk back I told her she looked so funny and old and so I finally took a picture of her which you can see as my POD. It's not a very accurate picture of the situation, but I was trying to take it without her noticing it...after the picture, she took her scarf down :(.
We went to dinner together and then I did some German homework. We spent the night watching One Tree Hill and Boy Meets World in our separate universes and then eventually we both went to bed!!!

Today was the first day of classes!!!! I was really nervous to go to my classes just because it was new and I wasn't sure what to expect! I think I was most nervous for German because I felt like I forgot everything over break! My German teacher ended up being pretty cool! She is German but she has 0 accent in English which is crazay! And she didn't make us do anything scary...we actually didn't talk at all. And we got out 10 minutes early so I had time to find my next class before it started! Good thing too because the auditorium that I was supposed to have my next class in was the floor above where it said it was on the map! So I was walking around for a while before I found it! That class was Introduction to Earth Sciences. I mainly took that class because the teacher had a British accent and he did not disappoint! He definitely has a British accent!! We learned a little bit in that class and then he let us out early too.
After that, Mary and I went to the bank and I deposited a check. She had to go to another class and then I went and bought my German book since I already had German homework...ugh.
I went back to my room after that and ate some lunch. I procrastinated on doing my German homework, and I did get some of it done. Then Maritza and I went to dinner and I did more of my German homework. At 9 we had a Dance Marathon meeting at the IMU so we went over there. A lady gave a speech about her son who is almost 5 years leukemia free! And they also talked about what we need to bring to the big event and when we need to sign in and stuff. The morale captains did their dance thing and they were all in costumes for some reason so that's what my POD is of today! Afterwards, we walked back to our room and Maritza and I both avoided our homework by talking for a long time and then we both laid on the floor and did our homework like good little students. After we were somewhat done, we went to bed.
Oh yes. I forgot to mention that when I woke up, I looked at the weather and it said that it was one degree out but the feel like weather was -13 degrees....that's all....................

Happy MLK day!!! Today was the inevitable last day of break...bleh. I took my first shower since coming back and it was amazing because the hot water has finally returned!!! I've missed the hot water! After that, I waited for Maritza to do her things, and then we went to lunch. We had planned to brave the coldness and take a tour around campus. My weather thing on my computer said that it was 1 degree outside, so after lunch, we went back to our room and bundled up as much as we could. Our plan was to go to all our classes to find out where are classrooms are since most of my classes are only ten minutes apart and I'm going to be running across campus to try to make it to my class and I don't want to have to run and also try to find where my classroom is at the same time...so I was hoping to just find my classrooms today. When we stopped at the first building where we had a class, it was locked so we couldn't go inside...so that plan failed. We made up for it by just walking around and finding all the buildings our classes are in. We tried to stop at the bank to deposit a check, but that was closed too. Our last stop was to go to the IMU so we could turn in some Dance Marathon monies and that was the only successful part of our journey! We dethawed for a little bit in the IMU and then we hit the road to head back to our room. It was so cold outside that my breath was freezing into frost on my scarf....ugh. The picture of us is us all bundled up and after we were outside for way too long!
Once we got back to our room, we decided to finally have the Batman marathon that we wanted to happen before break! We only watched the second and third movie since we had just watched the first one in my cinema class a few weeks ago. So we watched the second movie and then went to dinner. After that, we started the third movie, but we had to stop because we had a floor meeting in the lounge, and when that was over, we went back to our movie. The movie got over around 11ish and then we got ready for bed so that we could have a nice sleep before our first day of classes tomorrow!!! Oh boy!

Today I went back to college! We left at 8 o'clock this morning and hit the road. Since I was up pretty late packing, I fell asleep in the car and didn't wake up until we stopped for breakfast. We ate at this little diner type place that was pretty good and super crowded because it was the only restaurant in the town haha. After breakfast, we drove the rest of the way to my dorm. We parked in a parking lot near my residence hall because it was pretty empty and so that we could use the elevator to get up the hill :). It was pretty freezing outside but we managed to make it back to my room, and when we got there, Maritza's stuff was already there but she was not. So we left and went to Wal-mart to pick up some foods stuff. While we were walking along in Wal-mart, all of a sudden somebody started to talk to us and it was Maritza's dad!!! He pointed to where Maritza was walking with her mom so I ran over to her and we hugged and talked for a few seconds and I saw that she GOT HER BRACES OFF!!!! That's really exciting :). Our families stood in Wal-mart awhile and talked and then we went our separate ways. We drove back to my dorm and dropped off the Wal-mart purchases and then Mom and Dad said goodbye to me. I started unpacking some of my stuff and then Maritza arrived and her parents said goodbye. We spent the next hour or two unpacking our things. After that, we both settled down to watch stuff on our laptop :) I watched Boy Meets World, and she watched One Tree Hill and it was a very isolated evening of us not talking to each other haha...we're loners. At one point I looked over and noticed that she had gone to bed so I decided that I should go to bed too, and that's when I realized that I did not have a POD for today!!! So I took a picture of my room since I have moved back into it. And then I went to bed. The end.

Isn't our shed beautiful?! It was finished today!!! The men came early in the morning and started working on it again. I did what I usually do all day except this time I had to do laundry too. At one point, Mom wanted to go to the store to pick up sausage so I went with her. Mom made spaghetti with the sausage she bought for dinner and it was delicious!! It was my last meal at home :(
Later, Judy came over to visit and say goodbye! We talked for a long time on the couch and it was a very wonderful visit! Then Mom and I went to Meijer and the wind outside was RIDICULOUS! I felt like it was the end of the world because town was really empty of people and a whole bunch of garbage was floating around in the parking lot. After that, we came home, I finished my laundry, and I started packing. I realized I had a lot to pack so I sat on my floor and started doing it. It was a pretty uneventful last day of break, but it was still lovely :)

Today I got together with Janelle! We made plans yesterday to hang out today, but it could only be for a short time because she was busy. I did what I do best for my morning...I watched Boy Meets World until it was time to head over to Janelle's house! We talked for a little bit and then we opened presents!! I got her a calendar like the ones Kelley makes me! It has pictures of us and such and it's cute! She got me two i-pod cases and...drum roll please...a phone adapter that plugs into the headphone jack of my i-phone! I'm in love with it and I'm going to use it all the freaking time! She bought herself one as well so we took a picture of us on our phones. As you can see, it looks like a real phone, but it plugs into my i-phone! You can also hear your music through it too!!! It's pretty sweet!!!! Janelle also donated to Dance Marathon because she's the greatest :)
After hanging out with Janelle for too short of a time, I went home. Mom and Dad ran to town to do stuff and they picked up Chinese on the way back so that's what we had for dinner. After that, I decided to read, but then Dad decided to watch The Prestige so I watched it with him...it was still great the 3rd or 4th time around...and....CHRISTIAN BALE. That's all. After finishing the last Diary of a Wimpy Kid book, I watched some Boy Meets World and fell asleep!

Today was another bingo day...but more on that later.
I decided to do something with my life today so I made cookies!!! That's always a good thing to do if you want to feel productive! Back when I visited Kelley for the weekend at her apartment, Mom gave me a HUGE tub of nutella. It had gone untouched until today! I don't go through nutella very quickly and I already had another tub, so this giant tub sat in my room for a while. I brought it home for break just so I could make nutella cookies! I decided to use this recipe because it only used three ingredients and I know the nutella cookies Kelley made me only had three ingredients. This was my first time ever making cookies by myself so I was prepared for failure! But, luckily, they turned out pretty well! I doubled the recipe because it says it only yields 10 cookies....which is not enough nutella for anybody's body. The recipe says to bake them for 7-8 minutes but I did it for 11 because when I pulled them out of the oven, they were still extremely soft....but they harden as they sit so I'm sure 8 minutes would've been fine! And, the less they are in the oven, the more they'll be soft on the inside!!! They were pretty addicting...they tasted like brownies made out of nutella in a cookie form. As I waited for them to bake, I watched Boy Meets World...of course :) That's what I did until Mom and Dad came home. I read for a little bit and then we ate dinner. After dinner, Mom and I headed out to bingo!
Bingo was at the same place as last week, but this time Judy and Mindy joined us!! Somewhat of a fiasco happened to our little bingo group...so it's story time.
So the last game of the night is one of those bingo games where instead of saying "BINGO" you're supposed to say something else. In this case, it was the mascot of the school we were playing at (I'm not going to tell you what the mascot is because I don't want to be stalked). It was also one of those games where you cover all of the odd numbers before playing and then all that's left is the even numbers that you're trying to fill in...well...I had a card that had all the spaces covered except for 6 before the game even started! The remaining numbers were quickly filled in and then the last number was called (O72...boo) and I couldn't shout anything...because I was really excited and because I can't shout...it's not really my thing. So Mom shouted for me, except she said "Bingo" and then she and Mindy both shouted the actual thing, but the caller had moved on and we tried to tell him that I actually won...but he said it didn't count because we called bingo....so I lost $417 :( The woman who ended up winning that game ended up giving me $40 of the winnings because she's awesome and nice...but it still sucks because I should've won :( We just said we're never playing bingo there again.
After that disappointment, we said bye to Judy and Mindy and then Mom and I drove home where we ranted to Dad and then went to bed.

Today was pretty much like January 14....so you can just read that post haha...just kidding. After I finished my book this morning, I took a shower and then I sat on the couch all day and watched Boy Meets World. I was accompanied by my faithful lap dog, a roll of toilet paper, and a garbage can. I sent Kelley a billion pictures of Jersey being cute because I had nothing better to do with my life. I took this adorable picture of her while she was resting her paws on the toilet paper. I thought it was adorbzzz!! (I need to find something to do with my life...)
January 15, 2013
Today I went to lunch with Arzu!!!! She texted me yesterday asking if I wanted to go to lunch with her so I said yes!! I woke up and took a shower and then read for a little bit before she picked me up at noon. Our first stop was to head over to an elementary school so I could drop off a thank you card. Arzu ran into someone in her sorority while we were there which is crazay. They talked for a few minutes and then we left to go to Panera!! We had a great lunch and it was the first time either of us had been to the new Panera in town! We saw Kathleen there which was cool, so when we were done eating, we went over to her and talked for a while. After that, we stopped at a bank so Arzu could do stuff with her cash monies and then we went to the dollar store to look for a shower caddy. Unfortunately, all the shower caddies they had were for hanging on the wall of your shower, so we left and we drove back to my house. Arzu came in to say hi to Jersey and then we hugged goodbye and it was great haha. After that, I read for a little bit, and then I watched Boy Meets World until Mom and Dad came home, and then I read some more. We had dinner but I was still pretty full from my Panera so I didn't eat much. After watching more Boy Meets World (because that's all my life consists of) I went to bed! I loved seeing Arzu!!!!
January 14, 2013
Today was not very exciting which I have already warned you about! I woke up still feeling sick so I decided to do nothing! I read a little and played a few games, and that was about all I did with my life.
When Mom and Dad got home Mom was craving tater tots so she decided to throw some into the oven. While they were still baking, she decided to try to sneak one out but it fell and landed at the bottom of our oven. When I walked into the kitchen, I saw her with a spatula trying to get the tater tot from out of the oven and I thought it looked funny so I took a picture :) That was the highlight of my day :) We ate dinner, and then I read and watched Boy Meets World before going to sleep.

Today Kelley left me :(. And I also became sick :(. I woke up with a sore throat and a stuffy nose so I decided today would be pajama day, and that's exactly what it was!! I laid on the couch all day which is pretty much the story of my life these past few days. Mom made chili for the guys working on our shed and when they were done eating, we got to eat some too. She also made me hot chocolate because she's the best :). Kelley wanted to leave at 12 but since she was waiting to eat some chili, they didn't end up leaving until around 2. She had a whole lot of stuff to pack into the car, and she made Justin do it all haha. So she left and now I'm sad and lonely :(. I took this picture of her while they were putting their fish in the car, and then I took two other pictures while they were leaving. In the second picture if you look hard enough, you can see that Kelley is waving. The rest of the day was spent with me still on the couch. The men did not quite finish our shed but they got pretty close! Today they put the roof and some of the siding on! After Mom and Dad went to bed, I decided to watch Boy Meets World by my lonesome and I ended up going to sleep earlier than normal.
January 12, 2013
Today was not a very exciting day in the life of Lisa...but that's a pretty usual thing haha. But it was exciting because of the fact that our shed started being built!!!!!! I took a picture of the men who were building our shed as you can see <. They built it so fast! They crazy people. I spent the whole day in the same spot on the couch, occasionally getting up to look at the shed haha. It was a relaxing day so I wore leggings and sweat shirt and it was amazing! After dinner, Mom wanted to go shopping with Kelley to get some foodstuff for her apartment so I went with. We went to Aldi and Wal-Mart and then we went home. Katie came over later to exchange presents with Kelley, and after that, Kelley and I watched Boy Meets World (are you noticing a theme in my life right now!?) Kelley fell asleep in the last episode we watched and then I watched an episode with commentary before we both went to bed...that's about all that happened today!
January 11, 2013
WE VISITED JILL'S CLASS TODAY! It was very exhausting! I don't know how Jill does it all day e're day. We were only there for the second half of the day because we got there when they were done with lunch. Two girls attacked Kelley when we were in the parking lot walking in and they almost knocked her over haha. She had to pry them off to get inside to Jill's room! They were pretty nutso when they came into the classroom and then they all sat on the rug and they went around the room to introduce themselves. Then they did math and Kelley and I helped the first graders with their math tests. Then we played a game that quieted them down. They did a drawing thing and then they went to the library, and after the library, they went home! We stayed after school for a little bit and then Kelley and I left to go shopping for pretzel supplies! We want to make chocolate covered pretzels for Dance Marathon so we went to Meijer and bought everything we needed. We also bought some Cheez-its and wheat thins because we were really hungry. We devoured about half of each box when we stopped at Walgreens to pick up a thing I made and then we drove home. Justin came over later to watch Shutter Island I fell asleep about half way through and then I woke up when the movie was over. Kelley went out with Jill after that and I spent the rest of my night doing nothing. I helped Mom figure Pinterest out and now she's a fan :) After that, I went to bed! Yay for exciting days!

Today I officially became a 90 year old grandma! But before I get to that, I'll tell you about the rest of my day first. So the start of the day was much like every other day so far in my winter break. I woke up around 11ish and just laid in bed. I finished the book I was reading and I had to tend to the corned beef that Mom had in the crock pot. I took a shower and ate my leftovers from Kelley's birthday dinner. Kelley came home around 2ish because she had spent the night at Justin's. She wanted to find a Charlotte Russe so she could return the boots she bought the other day for a bigger size. She called a few Charlotte Russes and none of them had her size except for the last place she tried so we decided to go there. It was only supposed to be a half hour drive to the mall where the store was, and I thought I knew the way there, but when we were almost there, I thought I actually didn't know how to get there so we decided to GPS the mall and it took us to a random subdivision so we GPSed it again and we were 22 minutes away from the actual mall. So the half hour drive actual turned into almost a 2 hour drive since we hit rush hour traffic on the way to the mall.
Once we got into the parking lot, we quickly ran to the store and exchanged her boots. We ended up getting home a little after 6 and Mom wanted to leave at 6:20 in order to get a good seat at BINGO!! So we quickly ate dinner and then we left for BINGO!
Ever since Kelley turned 18, Mom has been wanting to take her to BINGO and now that I turned 18 (a year ago) she definitely wanted to go as a mother/daughter outing. It was very obvious that we were newbies because we had no idea what we were doing when we were getting the cards. We ended up playing all the games but we didn't win any of them :( We all got pretty close a few times, but we weren't lucky...I think it's because we didn't have any lucky doodads to rub. We did see Sarah there, though!! It was her second week going to BINGO so we said hi and chatted for a while during intermission. BINGO ended up lasting 3 hours and we got home around 10:30ish. Mom went to bed and Kelley and I ate some more food and I spent the rest of the night working on a Christmas present. We didn't go to bed for a while. Yay for BINGO!

Today was a very wonderful, wonderful day!!! As I mentioned yesterday, Katie and I wanted to visit the school today! We were a little nervous about how it was going to work because since the recent school shootings, visiting the school has become more complicated. We were supposed to make appointments with our teachers that we wanted to visit and then they were supposed to pick us up in the office and escort us through the school. Instead, we got to school before it started and just walked in. We visited a few teachers and it was extremely magical because we visited one teacher who didn't have a homeroom, then we visited the next teacher who didn't have a first period class, then we visited another teacher who didn't have a second period class, and then we visited another teacher who didn't have a third period class!!! It was so amazing! We would just visit one teacher, and when the bell would ring, we would head over to the next teacher's class and they magically never had classes so we were able to talk to them the whole time!!! With the second teacher we visited, Korinne walked in the class so our party of two became three! Korinne was there to talk to the seniors about college along with some other alumni so she was allowed to be there, unlike us. The last teacher we visited had a class but we just sat in on it until they had to go to lunch, then we hung out in the hallway with two other teachers before we left. On the way out, we ran into another teacher we had so that was exciting since we weren't able to visit her while we were there. After a brief visit, we said goodbye and then left!
Korinne, Katie, and I decided to go out to lunch so we went to Taco Bell. We ended up staying there for a while talking about college and such and it was really nice. I hadn't eaten at Taco Bell in a while! The POD is us while we were sitting in the restaurant. We left a little after 2 and I drove Katie home and then I went home as well! I found out that Grandma's procedure was a success and that she's doing well!! Yay Grandma!! Then I tried to read for a little bit but I got super tired so I took a nap. I finally woke up when Katie was at my door because she forgot her mascara here. After that, I read for the rest of the night and then went to bed! I'm in love with today :) I loved seeing all my old teachers!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KELLEY!!!!! Today Kelley turned 22 years old! I know, I can't believe it either. We were up past midnight watching Boy Meets World last night so I wished her a Happy Birthday after she got a call from Germany! Then I texted her Happy Birthday even though we were sitting right next to each other haha. We didn't wake up until noonish which is pretty common these days. After I took a shower and she straightened her hair, we went over to Grandma's house. Her procedure is tomorrow and she was leaving at 3 to head to Chicago so we went over to see her before she left. We had a nice chat with her and one of our great aunts, and then it was 3 o'clock and they had to leave so we left too. When we got back home, I read and Justin came over and then Mom and Dad came home. We waited until everybody was ready and then we went out to eat! We went to a really nice pizzeria place that is super delicious and our waitress was someone who works with Jill!! Small world :). We all got pretty full pretty fast so we had to take a food home with us. On the way home, we stopped at a grocery store to pick up some ice cream! I had to pee really bad so I went to the bathroom in the store and I felt like I was about to get murdered but it was all good. We found the ice cream Kelley wanted and then we picked up some honey because Dad is sicky. I texted Katie on our way home saying she should come over to our house for cake and ice cream! We had planned earlier this week to have her spend the night tonight so we could see each other and then tomorrow we could go to school and visit our teachers! So I texted her to get to our house around 7ish. When we got back, Kelley unwrapped her presents and you can see the pictures I took from that event if you click on the button. Then Katie arrived and we put the candles on Kelley's cake. Since she turned 22, we wanted Mom to draw a picture of a girl hold peace signs for the cake design and then end result was pretty funny because it's not very easy to draw peace signs. Then, we only had one number 2 candle so Mom put in two regular candles to substitute :) You can see her candles in the POD. We sang "Happy Birthday" to her and Katie was the only one who sang well because she's talented, and then she blew out her candles and we all had some cake and ice cream and it was super delicious like always :).
Katie and I talked for a while and then Kelley left to go out with Jill. Then we put our jams on and watched some Boy Meets World even though Kelley didn't want us to since she wasn't here :). Katie fell asleep right away and I stayed up for awhile and then woke her up so we could go to bed.
HAPPY 22nd BIRTHDAY, KELLEY!!!

Nothing exciting really happened today...I woke up around noon and then I read. Jersey was being weird because she's always weird. She just slept on the couch all day today and at one point, she was sleeping with two pillows and peeked her head over them to look at me...so I took a picture of her being weird :). At 3:10 I left the house to go to Mom's work. We had planned on going shopping this evening to do some last minute birthday shopping for Kelley! We drove to a nice shopping place and did some shopping. We got really nice things which you will see tomorrow!!! I also bought thank you cards to send thank yous to people who donated to Dance Marathon!!! We went to a few stores...Mom bought shoes in one of the stores and then when we were done, we ate dinner at Panera which was impossible to find because it was set back and was in a weird location...but we found it and it was delicious. Mom bought a French baguette from Panera and it was super good, and then we drove home. When I got home, one of Kelley's presents arrived for me so I had to take it to my room. We read for some time and then we decided to watch Boy Meets World again before going to bed! Yay for Kelley's last day of being 21!

Today had a late start because we were still tired from painting all day yesterday. I didn't wake up until 11ish and neither did Mom haha :). I took a shower and then Mom decided to go to town to do some grocery shopping. She asked if I wanted to come with her so I said sure. We were on a time limit because we were expecting a puppy to arrive at our house around 4!!! So we set out on a mission. We went to Aldi and then Wal-Mart and Mindy texted right when we got to Wal-Mart to say they were an hour away! So we did our shopping then called Grandma to say we were going to pick her up so she could see the puppy too! On our way back, Kelley and Dad both texted Mom to say they were at our house. We got Grandma and then we headed over to our house!
Spoiler alert: it was the cutest puppy in all existence!! Her name is Marbles and she is a cockapoo :) And she was about the size of my shoe hahaha not really but she was tiny and I am in love with her :) She was also very slippery on our tile because her paws were so fluffy :) It was very easy to knock her over :D. We all sat on the floor with her and she just walked around biting and playing with us. I decided to lay on the floor and she attacked my hair and started pulling at it hahaha. There are pictures of her playing with my hair but I don't have any. It was kind of impossible not to hold her and squeeze her!!! Jersey was super jealous because we had to lock her in Mom and Dad's room since Marbles couldn't be around other dogs because of her shots. She kept whining and scratching at the door and we all felt bad. Eventually, Butch, Judy, and Mindy decided to leave because they were tired from a long day and they said they would drop Grandma off at home so we said goodbye to all of them!
Kelley and I played Just Dance for the rest of the night and we got really sweaty and tired so we decided to read and then watch Boy Meets World before we went to bed! Yay for pups!

Today was a very long day indeed! The apartment Kyle just moved into was painted and he wanted to redo some of the paint jobs to different colors and such, and Mom said we would help so we chose today to do it! He wanted to paint his kitchen, living/bed room and his hallway. In the kitchen, he just wanted to touch up the paint and paint in the squares that were on his wall. As you can see in the picture, the previous tenant painted the walls green but kept the squares inside the crown molding white and Kyle wanted them green so that was my job! Mom did the touching up in the kitchen. Kyle painted his hallway white because it was a tanish color, and then Dad painted the living/bed room a light grey/blue. It was originally read and tan so Dad had to paint over the red a few times to make the new color work. Kyle bought us Noodles for lunch which was just as amazing as the Noodles I had the other day :) We ended up finishing the kitchen and it looks really nice! I think the hallway was finished, but the living/bed room still needs another coat of paint. When I was done painting in the kitchen, I helped with painting the trim in the living/bed room. Then I scraped windows and my arm almost fell off because of it.
It was around 8ish when we were done cleaning up and ready to leave, we had gotten there after 11, so the painting took a while. We spent the next hour and a half looking for a restaurant to go out to dinner to, but every place we went to had over an hour wait so we drove around the city for a while before we settled on a Mexican restaurant. The food was really, really good, but there was live music and it was super loud. We had to shout at each other to hear each other and we still didn't hear what the other person was saying. It was pretty crazy. That was the latest Mom had ever eaten in her life..mark it down on your calendar. After dinner, we dropped Kyle off at home and then we drove back home. When we were close to home, Dad started getting drowsy so I took over driving and I got us home safely as Dad slept next to me.
Kelley got back from babysitting not long after we got home around midnight. She made some toast and then I picked out a book for her to read and I read a chapter and then I went to bed. I was super tired. You can see Kyle's finished rooms if you click on the button! The green room is the kitchen, and the lighter room is the living/bed room.

Today I read. I ended up waking up pretty late and then I just read until I finished my book. A boy who graduated a year before me passed away a week ago and today was his service so Kelley and I showered and headed over there. I saw a lot of people from high school and some of them were friends so we talked for a little bit, and we walked around for a little bit before we eventually left and went home.
We ate dinner and then I decided to read some more. Mom and Dad decided to cut Jersey's nails today so, naturally I took a picture :) She really hates when her nails are clipped so she always looks sad :) She was clawing at Mom's hands to make her stop and then eventually she just gave up and became depressed. You can see her sad picture below. Kelley went ice skating so I was Kelley-less for the evening and I decided to play Sims until it was time to go to bed...and that was pretty much my day.

Just for the record, it's hard to remember to write "2013" when I write the day, so if you ever see "2012", then I'm sorry. Today we took Nadia to the airport so she could fly home to Michigan. First, however, we ate lunch with Mom at the college. I woke up at 9 and took a shower and then Kelley and Nadia also took showers. We left the house at 10:45 and got to Mom's (and Dad's) work by 11. Mom showed Nadia to her office and then we went and ate lunch. It was very filling but delicious. Eventually, Dad found us and sat for a little while with us. After that, Dad showed us his office and then we talked to people in Mom's office and we drove home with Mom! She took a half day off so that she could drive to the airport ALL BY HERSELF! (It's a big deal).
We drove home and then we left for the airport at 2. Nadia's flight was at 5, but since we had such a hard time finding her when we picked her up, we figured we should allow a lot of time. We found the terminal pretty easily and we just chilled for a while and then we decided she should probably get in line, so she did. I took a picture of her and Kelley hugging goodbye!! We waited until she was through the line and she was on her way to her gate until we left. On the way back, we stopped for Potbelly's and then we drove home and I read. Kelley and I watched some Boy Meets World before we went to bed including some episodes with commentary which were hilarious. Then we went to bed.

Today was another shopping day!!! I woke up at 10 and jumped in the shower right away because we all had to shower before Jill got here at 12!! So I took a shower and then Nadia and Kelley took a shower, and then we sat around until Jill came and picked us up!! We originally planned on going to the mall so that Jill could return some clothes she bought online but we ended up spending a whole lot of time there!!
After she picked us up, we drove to the town with the mall and then we ate at Noodles! We all got the macaroni and cheese because they have the best macaroni and cheese ever! I took this picture of Jill, Nadia, and Kelley while we were sitting in Noodles.
After that, we went to the mall!! The mall we went to is very long and it doesn't connect all together so you start at one end and have to walk all the way to the other before turning around and heading back. We ended up walking the whole mall. Kelley's goal was to find boots and mine was too I guess and we ended finding boots, and so did Jill!! You can see the awesome boot picture we took if you click on the button!!
I also found a cute black dress that's really classy and another shirt from Forever 21 and pajama pants from a different store! We got to the mall around 1 and we left around 7. We drove home after running in the cold air without our coats because we decided to leave them in the cold so we didn't have to carry them around the mall. When we got home, Mom and Dad had ordered pizza which was waiting for us, so we stuffed our faces and then the plan was to dance, but that didn't happen. Instead, I worked on a present again and then we watched another CD of Boy Meets World. We all ended up falling asleep except for Nadia so she woke us up and we went to bed :) It was a very nice day!!

Happy New Year Everybody!!!! I spent the night ringing in the New Year at Justin's house with Kelley, Nadia, Katie, Jay, Justin, and Kelley's friend. We got there around 11 and then we waited an hour for the New Year to come...it wasn't too exciting. Kelley got on her feet a few seconds before midnight so she could be more excited and we all joined her. It was very anti-climatic, but I'm glad we all survived 2012!!!
Kelley and I took this picture to match our January 1 picture last year. It means we're (or at least, me) on year 3 of our picture of the days!!!! I changed the website around a little so that last year's pictures are still on here! (Except I still need to upload all the rest of them...) I also found out how to make the pictures larger now, so if you click on the picture, it should get bigger so you could see my beautiful face better!!
After midnight happened, we watched Justin play wii golf and it was boring so eventually Nadia and I came home and went to bed.
We decided to use today as a lazy day :) Mom took down all the Christmas decorations :( and I read pretty much all day. Since our Christmas tree is gone, it was easier to play Just Dance so that's what we did before dinner. Then I read some more before I decided to work on a Christmas present. Kelley wanted to watch a movie, but we didn't know which one to watch so we decided to crack open my first season of Boy Meets World!!! It was so 90s, but still a good show :) We watched the first disc of season one and then we went to bed. Great first day of the new year haha
