Happy New Years Eve!! Today is my last day of the blog. I think I'm still going to take a picture a day for next year, but I'm not going to write a blog any more because it's a lot of work, and I keep getting behind. It's kind of a relief, but Kelley has talked me into still taking pictures, so I guess I'll still put those here!
We had plans to go bowling today, so at 3, Joe arrived at our house, and we left for the bowling alley! Mom had called ahead, and they said that the leagues were coming in at some point and to getting there some time after 3:30 would be enough to get two games in, but when we got there, they said the leagues were coming in earlier than what they told Mom, so we had to rush through our two games of bowling. But we did manage to get two games in! Mom and Dad played together, and Kelley, Joe, and I played together. I was really terrible and got a lot of gutter balls, but it was still a lot of fun!
After that we headed to dinner, and it was a good thing we had to be done with bowling earlier because the restaurant was packed! But we managed to get a seat right away, and the food was super good like always.
When we got home, Kelley opened her charades app on her iphone, and we played with it for a few hours. It was a lot of fun and really funny, and the time passed really quick. When we got bored with that, we decided to play In a Pickle which was a game we had downstairs that we had never played before, but none of us really liked it very much, so we decided to spend the rest of 2013 watching the countdown on T.V. We watched New York, and then we watched Chicago. I was getting so tired, and it wasn't even midnight yet so it was really crazy because I haven't bed before midnight in a very long time, but I was having such a hard time staying awake! When the new year hit, I took this picture of Mom, Dad, Kelley, and Joe drinking old champagne! Yay! They all said it was really gross, but Happy New Year anyway!!

Today was another shopping day for me and Kelley. For Christmas, Kelley got me this amazing poster of two youtubers, and it was signed by them too! I really wanted to frame it, so today we made a trip into town to find a frame. Mom gave me coupons to two craft stores, and we went to Hobby Lobby first.
They had a crazy sale on all their Christmas items, so we spent a while looking at everything, and Kelley ended up getting a bunch of gift boxes to wrap the Christmas presents she still has to give people. Then we went looking for frames. Their frames were 50% off so I ended up getting mine for only $7! Woo!
After Hobby Lobby, we went to T.J. Maxx really quick to look at some of the stuff they had, and then we drove home.
As soon as we got home, I put my poster in its frame. It took awhile because the poster was just a tiny bit larger than the frame, so the sides didn't snap back in place properly, but I ended up getting it pretty close to normal, and it looks fine! So I took a picture of my poster in its new frame because it makes me happy, and that's really all that happened today. I don't think I'm going to bring it back to school, though, because I don't know how to hang it without a nail. So I think it's going to stay at home until I don't live in a dorm room!

Kelley was still sick today, and since she was supposed to go see Katie last night, Katie and Jay came to our house this morning to see her instead because they were flying back to New York today, and Kelley really wanted to see her before she left. So this morning was spent with Katie and Jay at our house. Katie got Kelley some cute Christmas gifts, and then they stayed and chatted for awhile, but they had to leave around 1ish so they could pack because they were leaving around 3 to catch their plane.
When they were gone, we ate lunch, and then Kelley and I watched Lost for pretty much the rest of the afternoon.
For dinner, I decided to eat some of the leftover pork chops from Christmas, but when I was cutting up the chop, my knife broke! It was so scary, and it also hurt because it snapped back onto my finger, but it did not cut me, so that's good! I took a picture of my knife next to my giant pork chop because it's so crazy! I don't even know how this happened because I was definitely not cutting bone, but it broke against something!
We watched another movie tonight before we all went to bed.

Today I got to see Maritza again! We've been away from each other for far too long! We had plans to get together last weekend, but the weather looked sketchy, and I had a lot of other things going on, so we decided to make it this weekend instead! The reason why she wanted to come out by me is because she had packages shipped to school that arrived after she left and I had to pick them up for her, so she came out here to pick up her packages!
I got her from the train a little after 12. I was afraid I was going to be late picking her up because when the gates for the railroad blocked the road, I had to turn right right before them, but there was a guy in front of me who was going straight, so he stopped right before I could turn right, so I couldn't get to the train station. But the gates ended up moving before the train left, so I was able to be there when she got off the train!
We drove home, then, and then we ate some leftover lasagna for lunch. We decided to watch a few episodes of New Girl because we like watching it together. When we were New Girled out, we watched Sydney White which is one of Maritza's favorite movies that she quotes all the time and which she told me it was my homework to watch over break. So I watched it!
When the movie was over, we hung out in my room, and then dinner was ready, so we ate. Kelley started feeling really sick at dinner, so she laid down on the couch to sleep, and Maritza and I played Just Dance really quickly before I took her to the train station. We took this picture in my car waiting for the train!
When I got back home, Kelley was still really sick, and she started throwing up too. Mom, Dad, and Kelley watched two movies tonight, and I started reading one of the books I got from Barnes & Noble a few days ago.

Today was another busy day! It was also another day where I slept in very late. I'm getting used to this not-waking-up-at-7:30 business!
So today we had plans for people to come over for dinner, so it was a lot like Christmas Eve again today, except we were expecting more people!
Mom made a ton of lasagna for everyone which is perfectly fine because her lasagna is amazing and it tastes good as leftovers too! People started arriving in the afternoon, and we chatted for awhile before dinner. I hadn't see Mindy, Judy, and Butch in a while, so it was nice to see them again! And Joe came over, and then Aunt Patty arrived. Once everyone was here, we ate some dinner which tasted amazing like always, and then we sat around the table and talked. Kelley took this picture of the table while we were talking. I'm wearing a new sweater I got from Old Navy which I like a lot!
After that, we decided to play left, right, center for a while, and then we talked some more. Uncle Jerry arrived later because he was working all evening, and then Butch, Judy, and Mindy left. Uncle Jerry and Aunt Patty stayed for a little bit longer, and then they left too. When everyone was gone, we watched another movie and then went to bed. It was a really nice evening with family!!

This whole break has just been filled with busy days so far, and today was another busy day! Kelley and I decided to go shopping today because we wanted to use some of our gift cards and coupons that we have received for Christmas. So we had another shopping day.
We decided to go to a different mall than the one we went to a few days ago. We left a little after 1, so we got there around 2ish. It was super crowded today since everyone was still off of work and it's the day after Christmas, so the mall was packed. We went to a few stores and bought a few things. The mall ended up not having one of the stores I wanted to go to, but that was fine because there was still a lot of other stores we stopped in. I ended up buying a whole bunch of books at Barnes and Noble and using my gift cards that I had gotten for Christmas last year. I also got a cute dressy from Charlotte Russe! Woo!
For dinner we were standing in line for Panda Express, and the line was taking a long time, so we decided to hop next door to a Japanese restaurant that had zero line, and the food was soooo good! It was a really great decision! I took this picture of Kelley as we sat down to eat. As you can see, our food looks really good, and it tasted really good too!
After dinner, we walked around for a little bit more, and then we decided to leave, but on the way out we got distracted by Carsons, so we shopped in there for a little bit, and I found this super cute umbrella that I fell in love with, but it was thirty dollars, and I didn't want to pay that much for an umbrella, so I had to leave it behind.
After that, we drove home loaded with a ton of bags! Woo! Then we watched a movie before going to bed.

Merry Christmas to all!!!!! Woo! I can't believe it's Christmas! I've been saying that all week, but I still can't believe Christmas is already here!
We woke up around 8 this morning, and then we opened our presents! Woo! Mom had made all of our t-shirt quilts for us, so that was the present we opened first because she told us we had to open them at the same time. They're so huge and heavy and wonderful! They were such great gifts! And then she also made us cookbooks of all her recipes which we also opened at the same time! We got Mom and Dad an Apple t.v. and a year-long subscription to Netflix. Then we opened the rest of our presents! When we were done, Jersey got to open her present, and then we ate breakfast.
Kelley and I both did our hair after that. I wanted to curl mine, but I was afraid that the top would not work out, so Kelley suggested that I straighten my hair first. So I straightened my hair while she curled hers, and then when we went to curl my hair, the curls just fell out because it my hair was too smooth. So I just kept my hair straight for today even though I straightened it for last Christmas.
Once Joe came over, we left for Grandma's house. We sat around for awhile and chatted, and then we ate dinner. Jill, Kelley, and I took this picture together on the couch because we have an annual cousin picture at Christmas. As you can see, I'm wearing my new red cardigan! After dinner we opened presents. Presents took a while, but when it was done, Grandma went to get her birthday cake. A lot of people had left by the time the cake was ready to eat, but we helped clean up the dishes and stuff before we left too. It was still snowing outside, and the roads looked pretty dangerous, but we made it the two miles home safely. Joe left once we got back home, and then we all went to bed.

Merry Christmas Eve!!! I really can't believe it's Christmastime already! I feel like I didn't have enough time between the end of school and the start of Christmas! And this year went so super fast!!!
I woke up pretty much at the same time I've been waking up all of break. Mom and Dad were working on dinner for tonight because we're eating gigantic stuffed pork chops. Mom was also preparing other appetizers for the night.
Kyle's train was supposed to come in around 3, but the train had some technical problem, so at 3 he was still stopped only a few stops outside of the city. He had to get on a different train that would take him here, and then Dad went to pick him up a few hours later than he was supposed to arrive.
At 5, Aunt Patty, Uncle Jerry, and Grandma arrived for the celebrations! I got super full on appetizers, and then it was time to eat! I was so stuffed by the time I was done eating the gigantic pork chops, but it all tasted really good! And of course it was hard not to eat the cookies we baked! So I was convinced I would never eat again after tonight. We sat and talked around the kitchen table for a few hours, and then we all opened presents! Yay! Jersey is obsessed with presents, and she tries to open the ones under the tree. Today she was attacking Mom and Dad's present, so we had to hide it from her. So when we were all opening presents, she had to be right in front of us because she wanted to open some too. We did give her one of her own presents to open, though, so she didn't feel left out. I took this picture of her watching Grandma open her present because I thought it was cute.
After presents, we talked some more, and then everybody left and it began to snow. We all went to bed not long afterwards because we were tired.

Today was cookie making day #3! When Kelley and I woke up this morning, Mom had all the sugar cookies laid out and ready to be decorated! So we spent the morning decorating all the cookies and being creative. I took a picture of all the cookies we decorated, and here they are! By the time we were at the end of decorating, we ran out of ideas of how to decorate, so some of the cookies are not that great looking.
After we were done, I took a shower and then ate some lunch, and Kelley did the same, and then we headed out again!
I returned the candle that I got yesterday that was wrong, and then we went to Old Navy to find a red cardigan for me. Old Navy was a mistake because we ended up spending way too much monies there, but we did find a lot of cute clothes! And a lot of it was on sale, so that was nice! The lady at the cash register asked if I wanted to take out an Old Navy charge card so that I could be in there more often, and I told her I didn't need to be in there any more than I already was. Pretty much my whole wardrobe is from Old Navy.
Joe came over after we got back, and then we ate dinner, and Mom made him a basket of cookies to take back to his family. While we were eating dinner, Kelley's final Christmas present arrived which was exciting because I wasn't expecting it until tomorrow! So I wrapped that and the right candle, and now I'm officially done with Christmas shopping!

Today was partly another cookie day! Kelley and I both woke up kind of late, but by the time we were awake, Mom had already started on more cookies! She finished the cookies that were meant to go into the oven, and then we started on the cookies that aren't going to be baked.
Around noon, I took a shower, and then Mom and Dad headed out to go take Grandma to A Christmas Carol for her birthday. Kelley and I left right after that to go shopping!
We had a lot of Christmas shopping to get done, so we went to town first to visit a bunch of stores. Kelley bought a whole bunch of fleece at Wal-Mart to make blankets to donate to Project Linus, and then we went to Jo-anne's except their fleece was really expensive. We ended up going to Bath and Body Works where I saw an old seventh grade teacher, Kohl's where we saw our dental hygenist, World Market, a record shop that was closed even though the hours online said it was open, and then we drove to the mall to hit American Eagle. We got to the mall around 7 and it said that it closed at 8, so we only had an hour to spend in the mall, and that hour went really fast! Kelley and I both got pants, but other than that, today was a pretty successful day. I ended up getting presents for both Kyle and Jill! Yay! I took this picture of Kelley once we got home and put our billions of bags on the floor. There were so many!
When we got home, we wrapped the presents we bought, and when I went to wrap Jill's, I realized that somehow the candle I bought for her got switched with a different one, and it was Red Velvet Cupcake, and she hates the smell of cake, so I could not wrap it and give it to her. So that means we have to head out shopping again tomorrow so I can return the candle!

Today was cookie baking day! Mom sent Kelley and I a text message a few days ago with all the cookies she plans on making this year, and it was definitely a very hefty list. We started as soon as we woke up with the cookies whose doughs needed to be refrigerated. Once we got all those doughs in the fridge, we started on the rest of the cookies.
For lunch, we ate chili because Mom was making it in the crock pot all day. And then we continued on with our baking after lunch. I don't know how many different types of cookies we made today, but it was a lot, and at least two of the batters were thrown out because they didn't work. We ate chili again for dinner, and then we continued on baking after that.
We were getting pretty worn out from baking after dinner, but we finished the cookies we were doing, and Mom ended up finishing the sugar cookies even though Kelley and I got frustrated with trying to cut them out since the dough was too sticky. But Mom ended up getting it to work and baking them anyway. When the baking was done for the day, I took this picture of all the cookies we made! And this isn't all of them! We still have a few more left to make tomorrow or whenever we get around to it! It's pretty crazy!

December 20, 2013
I consider today the official start to my break because I finished work and I got to go home! I worked at 9 this morning because Kelley's original plan was to be here at 11, but she ended up leaving a little bit later.
I ate breakfast before heading to work, and then afterwards I went back to my room. I decided to wait until Kelley got here to eat lunch. I packed a little bit, and then I took a quick nap before finishing all my packing. Kelley got here around 1:30. She parked on the street, and then we ate lunch in the dining hall because it was fast and convenient. After lunch, Chelsea came to my room and the three of us walked to my teacher's office to see if Chelsea and I could get our research paper back because she said they would be ready Friday afternoon. My teacher ended up not being there, so we just left.
When we got back to my room, we grabbed the rest of my stuff I was bringing home, and we brought it down to the car and left!
We stopped at the first gas station we found to get gas and go the bathroom, and then we drove straight home! It felt like the longest car ride ever because it gets dark so early and we left when it was still light out. I felt like every time we looked at the clock only a few minutes passed but it felt like an hour went by. We were both really anxious to get home, especially Kelley since she had already driven from Champaign to Iowa City today. The weather was also really crappy all day today. There was freezing rain since last night, but the roads didn't get bad until we were almost home. But we survived! So that was good.
When we got home, we carried everything inside and then we ate dinner because we were both really hungry! We said hi to Mom and Dad when he got home, and of course we said hi to Jersey! We ended up taking this picture of Jersey when we got home. There was a giant Rice Krispies Treat in the cabinet from Grandma and I wanted a picture of it, so we combined Jersey and the rice krispies treat and took a picture of all of us, and this is the result. I think this picture is hilarious.
We watched a movie, and then we went to bed a little while later. It's so great to finally be home!! But it definitely doesn't feel like Christmas is almost here!

This morning I woke up to go into work. I didn't want to sleep in too late, and I didn't want to work in the afternoon, so I decided to go in at late morning. I ate breakfast before going, and then afterwards I ate lunch.
On my way back to my room, I saw a bag sitting in our hallway, and right next to it was a sign that said the person was giving away their stuff and to take whatever we wanted. Inside, I saw this book that I've been wanting for awhile, but I never bought it because it was one of those books that was expensive even in paperback. And this was hardcover! It was a really exciting moment of my life! So I grabbed the book, and I took a picture of it for my POD.
I spent my afternoon not doing much of anything, and then at 7 I got a text from Mary saying she just got out of her final! We planned yesterday to go to dinner tonight once she was done with her final, so I met her in the dining hall for dinner. The dining hall closes at 7:30, but it stays open for a little bit longer so people can finish eating, but when we were done eating, we sat and talked, and the workers had to kick us out because they had to clean. We ended up standing outside of the dining hall talking some more, and we didn't end up leaving until 9:45, so I was talking with her for almost three hours! I think that's a sign we need to see each other more hahaha.
When I got back to my room, I watched the last Harry Potter movie, I packed a little, and then I went to bed.

Today is the day I've been waiting for all semester! The day when I'm officially down with this semester! Woo!
I woke up 8 this morning to get in some more studying before heading out to my last final. I studied for about an hour, and then I took a shower. I was really hungry but I didn't want to waste time getting breakfast at the dining hall, so instead I ate my sandwich that I did not eat last night while I did last-minute studying.
Then I went to my German final. I feel pretty great about that test. I felt like it was the easiest test we've taken all semester, and that's saying something since I only studied for about two hours. I got down super quickly too. It felt so great to turn that test in and then to throw out the remainder of all the paper I had acquired over the semester. My recycling bin was full of all the paper I felt was not useful in my later life.
After that, I got a proper lunch, and then I took a long, peaceful nap before heading to work. When I got back, I had taken off my pants to relax in my room, and then our fire alarm went off. Grrr. I had to throw my pants back on, and then I wasn't thinking so I put flip flops on too. So my feet were cold while I was outside haha. Everyone was really angry because they were studying for finals, but apparently there was an actual fire in the basement or something, but it didn't seem too serious since we were back inside within 15 minutes. I just talked to Elena the whole time.
For dinner I got dinner with Chelsea and Jess. They were serving their special holiday food today, so all three of us got cupcakes. I took a picture of our cupcakes because I thought they were super cute. I had such a hard time deciding which cupcake to take because all the pictures on the chocolate thing were sooo cute! But I went with the deer in the end.
We sat and ate and talked for about an hour, and then we left because they still had finals after today. I spent the night watching Harry Potter, and then I went to bed.

December 17, 2013
I decided to go to work at 8:30 this morning so that I could 1) wake up early for a reason that would not allow me to fall back asleep and 2) get work out of the way for more nonstop studying. I was really tired at work, but I pushed through it. I got some breakfast after work, and then I went back to my room and prepared for a long day of English studying.
My final was at 5:30 tonight, so had all day to study for it. I had made more notecards matching up dates to important historical/literary events in history, and the stack I had was pretty huge. It would be a miracle if I could remember anything for this final. The amount of stuff we need to know is so ridiculous. I spent all day going through our powerpoints and rereading them for knowledge. I also studied with the cards, and I was remembering the dates pretty well, and I was also starting to remember the poets and their poems, but my mind felt so full of information. By 4 I just wanted to take my test because I was so sick of studying. I only took a half hour break around lunchtime to take a quick nap because I was tired, but otherwise I was studying all day. I was so not prepared but also excited when it was time for me to leave to my final.
The building was super close, but I got lost trying to find the room our final was in. But I did find it, and I was early to the test anyway. The first portion was a poem memorization where we had to memorize 14 lines of a poem, which I did a few weeks ago because my T.A. already tested us over it, so that was a nice thing not to have to study.
Then we got the real test. I was done by 6:30. I don't think it was as hard as I thought it was going to be. I don't think I failed it like I thought I was going to, but I don't think it was the best test I've ever taken. I'm pretty okay with how it went! I'm just glad it's over now.
I stopped at the convenience store on my way back to my room to get dinner, and I ran into Chelsea and we talked about the test. Then I bought a salad because I've been eating really unhealthily this week. I also bought a sandwich, but my salad ended up being really filling, so the sandwich was really unnecessary.
I took a nice study break while I ate dinner, and I also recycled all my notecards which was such a great feeling, so I took a picture. I can't believe that class is finally over! So many people have told me it's the worst class of the major, and I'm done with it! Woo! So this is a picture of me recycling all my notecards. It doesn't look like much, but it was a pretty thick pile.
Then I went back to working on my religion essay. I finished the last two paragraphs, and then I had to edit everything I had already written. My plan was to be done with that final by 11, but I finally submitted it at 1. I felt pretty okay with it, but I really don't know how I did on it. I felt like I couldn't do any better, but I don't think it was the greatest thing ever. It wasn't really my subject area. But I'm glad that's out of my life too. Now all I have left is German! So I officially started studying for German at 2 because it took me an hour to compile everything into an easy way to study. At 2:30 I decided I was tired, so I went to bed after only a half hour of studying.

Welcome to the official start of finals week! I'm so excited for this craziness to be over!!!
So this morning I woke up 6 and went to take a shower. By the time I was out of the shower, the sun still wasn't up, and I decided that that was very depressing and very unmotivating for taking a test. I ate some cereal, and then I finished rereading a poem before leaving for my test. The test was the farthest away of all my other tests, and when I got to the building, all the lights were off in the building except for the light to my classroom. That was also unmotivating. I feel like if they schedule 7:30 finals, they should at least make sure someone wakes up early enough to turn the building lights on. It was super creepy.
My teacher was five minutes late arriving to the final, and we started to think that he overslept, but then he showed up. I was done withing forty minutes, and I felt super good about it. I'm glad I got that out of my life, but it was one of the finals I was worried least about.
After that, I went straight to work because I wanted to get that over with so I could study for nonstop today, and my boss told me I could come in whenever it worked for me this week! So I went to work, and then I went to breakfast. Afterwards, I went to my room and slept for about an hour. It was a very much-needed nap. then I finally got down to business to defeat my finals.
At noon I went to meet with my religion professor to talk to her about the religion final, and she helped me a lot. I was in there for a half hour trying to sort things out, and it all became clear to me! I felt bad because I was really clueless the whole time, but whatever. When I left, I called Maritza to wish her a happy birthday, and we talked for a half hour even though I saw her less than 24 hours ago haha.
When I got back to my room, I wrote my two short responses for my religion final, and then I started studying for my English test which I'm most nervous about. I made matching cards for all the poets and poems I need to know, and then I spread them on the ground. I had to climb up into my bed to get a picture of all the cards. This on my ground is worth only 20 points of my test, and it's all the poets and poems we've read in the second half of the semester. We have to be able to match them together and then match them with the correct time period. Ugh.
I bought dinner from the convenience store again, and I ate in my room before studying some more. I went over the medieval ages in literature, and then I had to start writing my essay for religion. I wrote two paragraphs, and then I studied some more for English before going to bed.

December 15, 2013
Today I was left all on my lonesome :(
After I woke up this morning, I took a shower and ate breakfast, and then I decided to edit my essay that's due tomorrow. I was working on my essay when Maritza's parents and sister arrived. I said hi to them, and then I continued working on my essay. They went to church, and then I waited until noon to head out! I planned a long time ago to buy Maritza cupcakes for her birthday since I thought she was not going to be home for her birthday. Her birthday is tomorrow, but since she doesn't have to sit any of her finals, she got to go home and be home for her birthday. But I still bought her cupcakes anyway.
On my way out, I ran into Elle and we talked for .5 seconds, but it was still really nice to see her because she's graduating in a week! After that, I went to CVS to buy a bag, and then I went to Molly's Cupcakes and bought Maritza three cupcakes! I got her red velvet, birthday cake, and just vanilla in case she didn't like the other two. The box was awkward shaped so it didn't really fit in the bag I got, but I made it work after accidentally tipping all the cupcakes over. But it was all good.
I think she went out to lunch after church because they were gone for longer than an hour, and when she got back, she opened her present! Yay! Then I gave her her Christmas present, and then I helped carry her stuff to her car before saying goodbye.
By this time I was done with my essay, so I printed it off, and then I waited about an hour by working on other homework until it was time for Chelsea and I to head to the boys' a Capella concert. She asked me earlier today if I wanted to go, and I said of course!
I took this picture at the beginning of the concert. There were less people at the concert than there usually are, but I think that was because of the time. Almost every song they sang I had heard them sing at their previous concerts, but one of the last songs they sang I had never heard in real life, but apparently everyone else knew it. I liked it sooo much, and they sang it really well!! We gave them a standing ovation, and then they sang an extra song.
When that was over, Chelsea and I each got free popcorn, then we went to the convenience store in the IMU and bought some personal pizzas. We walked back to our room, and it was so cold and our hands were freezing, but it also started snowing which was really pretty!
When I got back to my room, I ate my food, and then I continued studying for my test tomorrow. Before I went to bed, I put my alarm clock up on my bed because I was so afraid of oversleeping for my final tomorrow morning, and when I did that, I knocked over my candle and shattered it which made me so sad! It was such a great smelling candle!! There were glass shards all over my dresser, but I decided to deal with it tomorrow.
I ended up going to bed around 2 which is going to be terrible tomorrow when I wake up.

Today is the official beginning of studying for finals, and I'm not looking forward to it. So I woke up naturally this morning because I didn't want to be tired all day, and I decided that today was going to be sweatpants day because I was not going to leave my room unless I needed to eat. So that's exactly what I did. I pretty much sat in my room all day and wrote my lit essay for Monday. I also worked more on my religion which was starting to make me frustrated because my brain was thinking in circles.
Maritza decided to pack her stuff today which made me really sad because she's leaving tomorrow and that means I'll have almost a whole week all alone in our room. I took a picture of all her packed stuff because nothing else happened today, and it was an addition to our room.
At night, she went out with some of her theater friends, and I stayed in our room and continued to work on my finals. It was a kind of productive night, but it stressed me out because I still have so much to do before finals start. I ended up going to bed at 1, and that's about it.

Three cheers for last day of all classes!! Woo woo woo!
I had my last 8:30 class this morning hopefully forever! I plan on never taking a 8:30 class ever again!!! And I officially made it to all of my morning classes which really surprises me! I thought I would have for sure slept through a few of them. So this morning we continued talking about some poetry, so it felt like we didn't have a final in less than five days since we barely talked about it. My professor also sat in on the class today which was a change from all other Fridays. At the end of class, we filled out evaluations, and then I went to breakfast and ate with Maritza, Chelsea, and a girl from across the hall.
After breakfast, I sat in my bed and did more homework for a while before I had to go meet with my research teacher. She was super nice and let me turn in my paper some time after next week because she understands that I have way too much to do with finals, so that was cool.
On my way to talk to my teacher, I heard some music coming from the Pentacrest, so after I met with her, I walked over there and saw that there was a bunch of older people playing Christmas music on the steps of the Old Capitol Building, so of course I took a picture of them. I listened to about one song, and then I had to leave to have a productive day.
So I went to lunch, and then I spent a few hours working on homework before I had to go to work. After work I had to quickly eat dinner, and then I had to run to do my German oral exam which went horribly haha. I thought it was just going to be me and another teacher, but it was me and my partner, my teacher, another teacher, and a kid who went before me whose diabetes decided to act up while he was doing his oral exam. So there were five of us in this tiny, hot room, and it made me very uncomfortable and frazzled. At one point, my teacher asked me what I ate last weekend, and I answered with "I don't know" because my brain wasn't working and I couldn't think of any food names to make up what I had eaten. It was an all-around terrible experience, but we were out of there quickly, and then I forgot about it and did homework for the rest of the night. That was all for this busy last day.

December 12, 2013
Today was some more of my last day of classes!! I worked at 8 this morning, so I got up bright and early at 7, and then I headed to work. I was pretty awake today which is always a sign of a good Thursday because it means I actually got an adequate amount of sleep last night!
After work, I ate a granola bar in the library, and then I went to my last German class!!! Yay! She brought some food today which was awesome because it was all chocolate/candy things. And it was all super good too! So my breakfast wasn't the most substantial today.
When German was done, I had some time to kill before going to my last lit class!!! I love going to last classes! It's really the greatest feeling! In my class, we talked about the last story that we read for today, and then we filled out the teacher evaluations for him, and then we were sent free! Yay! Officially only two classes left to finish!
I went to lunch, and then I finalized my research paper before printing it off and heading to my last honors class!! Today was pretty much just fun, but everyday in that class is just fun, so it's nothing different! We played a final review game which was just for funsie because there is no final in the class, and I took a picture of the opening slide because it cracked me up. My team did not win, but we got to eat more Oreos today! Yay! At the end of class, we got to turn in our essay which was such a relief because I now have only two essays left to write for this semester!
After class, I went to dinner with Maritza, and then we went back to our room, and I really had to force myself to do homework even though I have nothing due tomorrow! But I do have a lot to study/do for next week, so I could not spend tonight doing nothing. So I started thinking about my essay that's due on Monday for the first time. I also started thinking about my religion final and doing a bunch of other work for my finals. Then I went to bed. Yay! So close, yet so far away from freedom!

Today was officially my last day of lecture!! Yay!!! I never knew I would be able to survive an 8:30 class, and I did! Although it was a bit of a struggle most days to stay awake in lecture. Anyway, I took another screenshot of the temperature today because it disgusts me. I checked the weather before I went to class, and it told me that it was six degrees but it feels like -13 degrees outside. Bleh. Needless to say, I wore underarmour under my pants today.
So after successful going to all my English lectures for this semester, I was feeling really great when I went to breakfast. I had recently started realizing that the light at the end of the tunnel is finally apparent! And I was not as stressed as I thought I would be at this time despite my paper and three/four tests I still have to take by this time next week!
After breakfast, I went to German, and then I had to go to my last religion class ever! We learned for a little bit, and then she went over the final exam, and the light at the end of the tunnel faded away. It's the most stressful exam I've ever seen. It's a take-home test, so I have until next week Wednesday at 1 p.m. to turn it in, but I don't even know where to start with it. We're supposed to be interpreting pictures for part of it, and then we need to write a 1200 word essay-thing for another part, and then there's a bonus question. I answered the bonus question as soon as she put it on the screen, so at least I'm getting at least 5 points! But she gave us approximate times it will take to complete the first and second part of the test, and she said for the first two questions we should spend two hours gathering information/ thinking about it, and then we should spend two hours writing the answers. For the essay part, she said we should spend 6 hours gathering information/thinking about it and two hours writing it. I don't know about you, but I don't recall ever having 12 free hours floating around when I"m trying to study for finals. Gahh. I was really angry with my teacher after lecture, but we did get out early!
After we left class, I met with my old German teacher at a cafe to talk about something, and then we sat and talked for awhile, and it was nice, and my chai tea was really good!
After that, I went back to my room with about an hour before I had to go to work, so I tried to do some homework, and then I left. After work, I ate dinner, and then I spent the rest of the night doing homework. I finally finished my essay for tomorrow, but I didn't print it off yet because I wanted to reread it tomorrow to make sure I liked it. I read the story for my lit homework, and then I went to bed.

Happy Tuesday! Today I slept in until 8:30, and then I got up and started working on my research essay. I decided to skip breakfast to get more time in with my essay, and then I took a shower. Before I had to leave for class, I decided to take a quick nap, and then I went to German. We watched a weird short German film that was only ten minutes long, and my teacher said we could write a summary about it for extra credit. It was good, but it was weird too. Then we had to fill out evaluations before we all left.
After German, I went to lunch, and then I went back to my room for a little bit before heading to my lit class. We talked about the stories we had to read for homework, and then I went to wait in the library in between class and work. I decided to edit the paragraph that I wrote this morning, and I turned it into something coherent. Then I had to go to work. After work, I went to dinner, and then I worked on more homework. I finalized the paragraph I was working on all day, and then I started my English reading homework.
While I was reading the chapters we were supposed to read, Maritza handed me her package of Oreos that had about five Oreos left because she didn't want to be tempted to eat them, so I gladly took them and ate them for her! I took this picture of the Oreos on my bed and my English homework on my screen because I had nothing else to take a picture of. That is all that happened today.

The countdown begins today! In officially one week I will be finally starting my finals. At the same time, it pains me to say that, because I can't believe I still have more than a week left! These last two weeks after Thanksgiving have been the longest weeks of my life.
So I had my second-to-last English lecture this morning, so that was really exciting. I now only have two last 8:30 classes! Anyway, so I had my 8:30 class, and then I went to breakfast with Maritza. After that I went to German, where I took my last quiz finally! And then we started reviewing for the final exam! Eep! This is the first time I've actually felt like the semester is almost ending!
When I was done with German, I went to religion, and then I went to my very last religion discussion!!! Yay!!! That was the class I was most looking forward to finishing since it was the worst 50 minutes of my week, but now it is over, and I'm so pumped. But today wasn't even that bad! We actually learned stuff today!
When that was done, I ate some lunch, and then I worked on my research paper for a little bit before I had to head to work.
After work, Maritza and I went to dinner where they had the most gigantic asparagus ever. I took a picture of it because it blew my mind. I don't really know if this picture gives it enough credit, but it was huge. And that was the most exciting moment of my day. Also, you can see they had pineapple today! Yay! Pineapple day is my favorite day! I ate it for all three meals, so by dinner my tongue was about to fall off from the acid haha.
After dinner, I settled down to work on my homework. I finished a paragraph of my research essay, and then I read the stories for my lit class. After that, I went to bed.

Happy Sunday Bunday! Maritza and I decided to both wear buns today, which is why we took this lovely picture of us with our lovely buns. You can also tell by this picture that it snowed today, but luckily I only left my room to go eat, so I did not have to experience the snow. They did not plow our roads or the shovel the sidewalks today, so it was a good thing that I did not have to go outside.
Today was working on my paper day #2. And it was also just as productive as yesterday! Yay! If only every day was like this weekend! That'd be amazing!
Half-way through the day I decided to work on my German homework to finish off my remaining homework due tomorrow, and then I worked more on my paper.
By the end of the day, I was on my sixth page of the paper! Yay! And I had two paragraphs left to write! I really thought I would be working on this all the way up to Thursday, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen!
Maritza and I bought pizza for dinner last night, so we ate some leftovers for dinner tonight, and while we ate, we watched some New Girl, and it was such a great homework break! Except it was really hard to stop watching and get back to work, but we did not give in!
That was pretty much all that happened today.

Happy weekend. I've been waiting for this weekend to arrive for over a month because I have a research paper due on Thursday, and I've known since a month ago that I would not be able to start writing it until this weekend. So I've been stressing out about this essay knowing that I only had a weekend to write it. Luckily, it was only 7-8 pages long and I already gave a presentation on the topic so 1) it's not that long and 2) I already put all the research and effort into it two weeks ago, so all I needed to do was compile it into a paper format!
So I woke up this morning and decided it was sweat pants day because I would not be leaving my room at all. I started out by rereading all my sources since they were all on my computer and I didn't mark what quotes I was using, so I printed off my sources, and highlighted all my quotes. I also read some new sources because I needed eight and when I gave my presentation I only used, like, 6.
By the time I was done with that, Maritza and I decided to go to lunch, and then when we got back, I started writing my paper for real. I was super productive and felt very inspired.
Around nighttime I decided to start on some of my homework that's due on Monday so I could get that out of my life, so when I finished working on my essay, I was about two pages into it, and I was not feeling discouraged! Yay! Because I have all day tomorrow to do it too!
So I did my English homework where I read three short stories about postcolonialism that were both weird and good. I was so tired while I was reading them, but I was set on finishing them all tonight, and I did! Then I went to bed because I was tired after a long day of straight homework.
I took this picture of my bed while I was doing my English homework, though, because I had about five thousand books on my bed and I wanted to take a picture of all the craziness that was going on because this is what it looked like all day. Except this picture doesn't really do it justice.

I'm so glad it's Friday!!! I officially have less than two weeks left of classes, except I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel yet!! I still have three papers left to write and three tests left to take before I'm free!!
Anyway, so this morning I had my second to last discussion which was awesome because as I said on Wednesday, I actually like the literary movement that we're in right now! Woo! We also got some extra credit today for class, so that was nice too.
After class, I walked to breakfast with Chelsea, and then I ate breakfast with Maritza. After breakfast, I pretty much just read for a little over two hours before I had to go meet up with my teacher. She was not there today, so I just went back to my room and read some more. I had to go to work at 3, and then after work I went to dinner with Maritza because I was starving! I had not eaten since breakfast again, and Maritza got mad at me haha. She is actually my second mom.
After dinner we went to an a cappella concert for the group that Chelsea is in! They were pretty great! Except they underestimated the amount of people interested in a cappella, so by the time we got there it was standing room only. By the place was packed which made me happy! All the songs were super great. I took this picture of the group during their first song. It lasted about an hour, and then Maritza and I walked back to our room. I ended up finishing my book tonight which was my goal. I felt very satisfied with myself. After that was over, I decided to go to bed so I could be at my maximum productivity tomorrow!

I had to work at 8 this morning, and on my way there I was thoroughly convinced I was going to have frostbite on my nose by the time I got to the library. The temperature was fine yesterday, but today it decided to suddenly get extremely cold, and mostly it was because of the wind.
When I finally got inside the arm library, I did not have frostbite, so I went to work. I ate some breakfast after I was done, and for the first time I bought some cereal in the library. It was pretty exciting.
Then I bundled up as best as I could and took the trek to German. It was just as cold walking to class, but I managed. My teacher was awesome and pushed back the quiz we had today to Monday, so that was nice. When German was done, I went back to my room to work some more on my essay due today, and then I went to lit. When lit was over, I ate some lunch, and then I finished up my paper. I ended up printing it off at 3, and it was due at 3:30, so that was close.
I went to my class which was awesome because now we only have one more class left for that class! Then I went to dinner with Maritza. I decided that I didn't want to do any homework tonight because this week has been so stressful, so I watched a movie instead.
I took this screenshot of the weather today. When I was complaining to Maritza about how cold it was outside, she told me it was only 15 degrees, so I looked it up, and the feels like temperature was -1. It was all in the wind. Boo.

Today was stressful day number 2! Hoorah!
I woke up for my early class which wasn't too bad because I actually like the literary period we're talking about this week. The readings were actually interesting last night. After class, I met up with Maritza for breakfast, and then we had a few minutes in between breakfast and going to German.
Skipping German yesterday was such a good decision because I'm pretty sure we did nothing. I didn't even feel like I missed a day.
After German I went to religion, and after that class was over there is now officially only one week left of that class! Our final is a take-home for that class, so that's exciting.
I had intentions to start my paper that's due tomorrow once I got back to my room, but instead I did some German homework, and then I tried and failed to take a nap. By the time that unsuccessfullness was over, I had to go to work.
After work, I got dinner with Maritza, and then I settled in to write yet another paper. I was actually pretty on a roll with this one. I decided to write it by hand and then type it later because my thoughts were working better that way. I ended up getting the body of my paper done by 11! I would have been done sooner except Maritza arrived at one point and distracted me haha. I also decided to drink some tea from my super awesome mug today! It was seriously the most awesome thing ever. With this mug, the footprints alongside the words light up when there's hot water in the cup, so this was my face the whole time the footprints were lighting up. It was the best moment of my life.
I decided to set aside my paper and finish the rest of tomorrow so that I could start the rest of my homework, and then when that was done, I went to bed.

December 3, 2013
So today was really interesting, and by really interesting I mean stressful.
I woke up this morning with intentions on working on my paper that was due tonight. I got out of bed and went right to my laptop. I had written a paragraph when I realized that I could either go to German and rush my second paragraph, or I could skip my German class and write a coherent paper. So I skipped German to finish my paper and take a shower. It was the best decision I made all semester, I think.
So after that, I went to lunch at one point, and then I went to my lit class. Class was really good today because all the readings we had were really good and interesting.
After that I went to the library where I edited my paper, and then I went to work. After work I decided to eat dinner in my room so I could finish my paper and submit it. I took a screenshot of my email proof that I submitted my essay. I'm pretty shocked that I was actually able to do this, and it was a proud moment to get that email!
After that I had to go to an extra discussion section for the paper. The paper and the discussion section were both extra credit, but I have a feeling I'm not going to do very well on the final, so it was pretty much necessary. About 50 other people also did the extra credit, so the classroom was so full, and it went so fast with so many people discussing the book we had to read. It was only fifty minutes, but the first half hour felt like ten seconds. It was super easy just to get credit to go and sit there.
After that, I walked back to my room and started on my homework for tomorrow. I literally cannot wait any more for this semester to be over. It's been the most stressful thing of my life.

December 2, 2013
Today was the first day back. I feel like this is the beginning of the end, except that I do not see the light at the end of the tunnel. Between today and my last day of finals, I will have written five essays, and right now I can't imagine that happening to me, and I'm not looking forward to it. So I went to my 8:30 lecture this morning, and my teacher was nice enough not to give us a quiz, which shocked pretty much all of us because we all thought she would be evil and give us a quiz our first day back.
After that I went to breakfast with Maritza, and then I had to go to German. Every class is still going strong which is part of the reason why I can't see the end of the semester yet. We're still learning stuff in German even though we don't have anything happening until our final. Then I went to religion and religion discussion.
After that I went back to my room to get a start on my homework. I did some of my reading that was due tomorrow, and then I went to work. After work, I was so hungry because I had not anything since breakfast, and then I settled down to do more homework. I took a screen shot of part of my homework question as my POD because it cracked me up, and I didn't take a picture of anything else today. Pretty much the part of my question that made me laugh was the second part which says "Is she a gold digger?" I thought it was a very scholarly question to ask haha.
After my reading for tomorrow was done, I started writing my first essay for the week that is also due tomorrow. I was having such a hard time writing, and I came to the conclusion that all the essays I had to write this semester has made me forget how to write essays, so I counted how many essays I've had to written, and by the time this semester is over, I will have written 16 essays in a 16 week period. I know I'm an English major, but that's sickening.
Eventually I gave up writing my essay and figured I was better off getting sleep than trying to write a paper that wasn't happening, so I went to bed.
December 1, 2013
Happy first day of December! And Happy 21st birthday to Janelle! I can't believe it's December already! I think I say this every single month, but November went so fast!!!
Today I struggled between procrastinating and stressing about all I have to do before finals. But procrastinating overruled, and I really didn't do anything to get the stress out of my life. I did finish all my homework that's due tomorrow, and I started some homework that's due Tuesday, but I didn't start either of my two essays that are due this week.
Mom decided to put up the Christmas decorations today which meant putting up the tree! I took this sneaky picture while she was hanging up some ornaments. I love our Christmas tree!! It's the best tree, ever.
Janelle stopped by some time in the afternoon so that she could give back the key she used while we were on vacation because she was the one who watched Jersey for us. And then I gave her a birthday/souvenir! I got her a shot glass from Universal Studios for her big day!
After she came, I decided to run to town to do some Christmas shopping, and then I came home and started packing my stuff back up to go back to school.
My bus was leaving at 7 tonight, but I got to ride it with Maritza! It was so great. I decided to watch a movie and do some homework as well!
When we got back to our room, I did some more homework, and then we went to bed soon afterwards because it was pretty late and we both have 8:30 classes tomorrow! Only two more weeks before finals and then I'll be home again!!
