I slept in this morning because I could! When I woke up I took a shower and then I spent the morning doing some homework and finishing my book finally! I can't believe today is the last day of August, though! That's crazy! I have no idea how time goes by this fast!
So my day was kind of uneventful. At one point my uncle came over to drop off his camper because he wants to try selling it our house, and then I just did a lot of nothing. Kelley came home a little bit after noon, and we talked for a bit. As soon as she sat down on the couch with a blanket Jersey jumped up by her and sat right on top of her legs. She thinks she owns the place. I took a picture of her laying on top of Kelley's stuff because she doesn't care when she's in other people's way.
We had spaghetti for dinner, and then Dad came home a little bit later after spending the day at a tractor show. Kelley and I drove to Wal-Mart at around 8:30 because she needed to get some things, and it was nice to get out for a little bit since I didn't do much today.
When we got home we stayed up for a little bit longer, and then Mom and Dad went to bed, and I did some more reading for my homework. We went to bed a little bit later.

Today I got to go home again after only five days away haha! It was still exciting to me, though. I had class at 8:30 again this morning, so I woke up and took a shower, and then I just put my hair in a bun because I didn't want to have to deal with hair if I was going to be traveling places.
Then I left to go to my class, and I thought I was going to get there almost when class started, but when I walked into my classroom, there were only, like, three other people in there, and my teacher was not one of them. So I just waited, and eventually everybody else showed up and we started class. That class became my favorite one so far. It was a discussion section for my English class, but it was a pretty small class, and my T.A. seems awesome. The time went so fast, and I had a lot of fun!
After that I walked back almost to my dorm with Chelsea, and then I went to my room and ate breakfast. I decided to start on my German homework because I didn't want to have to deal with that over the weekend, so I did all my German homework, and then I went to lunch and ate a sandwich.
After that I said goodbye to Maritza because she had to be in class when I had to board the bus, and then I waited for a little bit until it was time for me to get on the bus. The bus was pretty empty, and I ended up getting a seat all to myself! The air conditioning was not very good, though, so I got really hot at one point in the ride. I also fell asleep at one point, and when I woke up my hand was asleep.
I got to the mall around 5, and then Mom and Dad got there and picked me up. There was this huge storm coming apparently, and they got me out of the parking lot just in time! We stopped at Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner, and it started downpouring like crazy while we were eating. I got super full from my delicious wings, but they were so spicy even though I got mild! I went through three cups of water!
After dinner we drove home, and the rain was pretty much done by then. When we got home I pet my pup, and then I took this picture of us. I wanted to take a picture with her, but she did not want to cuddle with me, so that is why she looks like she is trying to escape. I ended up staying up for a little bit doing nothing, but then I went to bed because I was super tired.

Today I was a nervous wreck! I had received an e-mail yesterday saying that they wanted to have an interview with me today, and it made me so nervous! I've never had an interview before, so I had no idea what to expect! So after I took a shower this morning I changed into a dressy and went to eat breakfast even though I wasn't hungry. I ate some cereal because it was the only thing that looked good, and then I went to German. After German I had time to eat some lunch, but I still wasn't hungry so instead I went to my room and sat for a little bit before I went to my lit class. I was so hot by the time I arrived there, but that building is not well air conditioned, so I sat sweating for a few minutes until I could finally cool off. The class went a lot better today than it did on Tuesday because we actually talked about the readings we did, and it was pretty interesting.
I started getting nervous again by the end of class, though, because my class got out at 1:45 and my interview was at 2!!
So as soon as I got out of class I walked over to the library and met with the lady I was supposed to meet. I had to meet with the three ladies in the department, and they just basically told me what the job was about. They were all super nice and liked to talk about stuff, and they never even asked me anything, so it was a great interview! They said the job was based off of who had the best availability, and after about 15 minutes they showed me the way out. It was really easy, and I definitely should not have been as nervous as I was, but I had no idea what to expect!
After that I finally ate some lunch, and then I sat around for a little bit before heading off to my last class.
After that class was over I went back to my room and saw Maritza for the first time today. We talked for a little bit, and then we decided to go to dinner. After dinner we did our homework, and while I was doing mine I suddenly had a huge taste for ice cream, so we decided to take a trip to the Hamburg Inn to get some shakes and fries. Maritza also got a slice of French toast even though it was 10 o'clock at night. I took a picture of our meal because it made me laugh, and then I went back to my room and stayed up for a few more hours finishing my homework.

I'm starting to really hate this heat wave that's rolling through the world!! It's so hard to walk to class without sweating and looking gross!! I screen shotted the weather from weather.com because it makes me want to vomit.
Today I had my 8:30 class again, which at that time the weather is not so terrible. We had a quiz at the beginning of class that was pretty easy, and then we actually started learning! Syllabus week is almost over! So yesterday I said there was a fire alarm at my old residence hall, well this morning at 2:30 I woke up and looked outside and saw another fire alarm happening, but when I woke up fully this morning I thought it was a dream. So I talked to Elena, and she said there actually was a fire alarm at 2:30 in the morning. That's crazy. I don't even know why I woke up to look at it, there were no sounds or anything! I just woke up!
So anyway, after my 8:30 class I met up with Maritza and we ate breakfast together. Then I went back to my room and waited until it was time to go to my German class. We've been learning about Köln in German, so we continued doing that today.
After that I went to my religion lecture, and when I got in I did not see Maritza anywhere, so I just sat down in the middle of a row, and then I noticed that it was getting closer to class starting, and she was not walking in. Then I saw the back of her head in the first row, so I texted her saying that I was behind her haha. Somehow we both didn't see each other when I walked in, but it was all good. That class was really interesting, though!
After that I was done for the day, so I went and ate lunch in my room. I did some homework in my room, and then eventually I went to dinner with Maritza.
Maritza had another thing to go to tonight for a few hours, so I did my homework, and then eventually Kyle called me and we were on the phone for about two hours! That's crazy!!! After that I went to bed because I was tired!

Second day of classes were just as successful as the first day of classes! I was able to wake up an hour later today because my classes didn't start until 10:30. After I woke up I took a shower and ate a bowl of Cheerios in my room. My first class of the day was German which was fine, and then I wasn't sure what to do with my time because I had class at 12:30, but I wasn't very hungry to eat lunch, so instead I went back to my room to pick up a package that I had to send to someone who ordered a book from me from Amazon, and then I walked all the way to the post office to drop off the package. It was so incredibly hot outside that I was so sweaty by the time I got to the post office. I wasn't in the post office long enough to be cooled off, so I was reluctant to step outside.
When I did leave I walked to my class, and I got there a few minutes early. The building my class was in is kind of old and the air conditioning really sucks, and my professor shut the classroom door because the hallway was loud, so it was still hot inside, and it made me grumpy. That class seemed to take a longgg time because we were just going over the syllabus, and then he let us out twenty minutes early, and I went to lunch.
When I was sitting in my bed doing homework after lunch I looked outside and saw that the residence hall that Maritza and I lived in last year was having a fire drill! It made me glad that I was not them!! So I took a picture through the window of the poor, unfortunate souls.
Later Maritza and I went to dinner, and then after dinner I decided to walk to the mall again to pick up a book, and by the time I got back I was dripping in sweat. It was really disgusting. I couldn't even handle the heat. I later found out that there was a "feels like" temperature of 113 today. So that's always fun, especially when you live on a floor with no air conditioning! But luckily our room has air, otherwise I would be cranky.
We had a hall meeting tonight which went pretty fast. We all introduced ourselves, and the people in my hall seem pretty funny. Maritza couldn't be there because she had a different meeting, and I met a girl that was in the same level of German class as me but at a different time! I had fun at the meeting, and now I'm pumped about the rest of the school year!

Today was my first day of classes!! Oh boy!!! I ended up waking up at 6:50 because I was anxious about missing my alarm clock, and I was wide awake, so I decided why not just get up?! Maritza also has 8:30 classes on the same day that I do, so if either of us ever oversleeps our alarm, it works out great.
I took a shower, and then I sat around for a little bit because I was early, and then Maritza and I set out together.
My class was intro to the English major which seems really intense. My teacher seems super nice though, but she seemed a little too excited to be teaching the class at 8:30. I got really tired about halfway through the class because it was only syllabus day, so there was nothing interesting going on. I'm taking the class with three other people that I know, so it's nice to have them to talk to.
After class I met up with Maritza, and we went to breakfast together. After breakfast I hung out in my room for a few minutes before I had to set out to my German class. There were a lot of the same people in my German class that were in my class last semester, so it was nice to see familiar faces. I was really terrified of German because I hadn't used it all summer, but it came back pretty easily. My teacher is Turkish so she's a little hard to understand, but she seems really nice.
After that I had my religion lecture, and my teacher seems suuuper cool. She was really funny and making jokes the whole time. We got out about a half hour early, so I just went to my religion discussion because I had nowhere else to go. That class was a little strange, but it went okay. After that all my classes were over!
I went to the bookstore, then, and picked up some S.T.A.T. stuff, and then I practically ran in the chokingly hot air back to my room to get a book and then meet a girl downstairs to give her the book. She bought one of my books off of amazon, and I saw that she lived on campus, so we arranged to meet up. When I was done handing the book off to her, I ran into Elena and Jess, and Elena took us back to her room, and I sat with them for a few hours in her room. Her room is huge because she's an R.A., and it's crazy. Then they both had to go to class, so I went back to my room and unpacked the rest of my stuff.
I decided to rearrange my desk to make my bookshelf fit things easier, and then I took a picture of the end result because I was proud of finally being set up in my room!
Then I started my first homework of the semester, and a part of my soul died because I am not prepared for homework yet. I was tired around 11, and I decided that I didn't feel like being up any more, so I went to bed a little after 11, and it was great!

August 25, 2013
Today was move-in day!!! I woke up bright and early at 5:30 to take a shower and finish the rest of my packing. I still had to pack my bathroom stuff and gather together some small stuff from around the house. Dad loaded the rest of the stuff in the car, and then Kelley left a little after 7 on her way back to school. Then we left around 7:30, an hour after we originally thought we would leave, but that's okay because we weren't in a hurry to be anywhere.
So I said goodbye to my pup pup, and we set off on the road. We stopped for breakfast a little bit later, and then we continued driving to Iowa City! I fell asleep in the car at some point, and then we got a little turned around getting into Iowa City because the exit off the highway is under construction, but eventually we made it!
I checked in at the front desk and had to get my key and fill out some forms, and then I got a cart and started loading all my stuff into the cart! We had to make two trips into the room, and on the first trip Maritza was not there because she was at church, but on the second trip she peaked her head out the door right when I was in front of it, and then we hugged. She moved down yesterday because that was the real move-in date.
Then we started unloading some of my stuff from the many bags that I crammed everything in. We made a list of things I would like to have in my room, and then we went to Target. We got a shelf because there aren't any bookshelves in the room like last year, and we also bought mirrors for above the sink because there wasn't any of those either. After Target we went to lunch at the Hamburg Inn, and then we went to Walmart and got the remaining of stuff like cold food.
After that Mom and Dad helped unpack more things and put my shelf together, and then we said goodbye, and they drove home.
I spent a large majority of the rest of the evening putting my stuff away. It took awhile because there was so much stuff, and I couldn't decide where I wanted to put a lot of it. I didn't eat dinner because our lunch was a sort of lunch/dinner, so I never got hungry. Eventually I went to bed with still more stuff to unpack. I actually went to bed around midnight which was the first time I went to sleep that early in a few months, but I have early classes starting tomorrow, so I needed to get back on track!

Today was another exciting day! I took a shower this morning, and then I drove to the bank to cash a check. Kelley came home a little before noon for the bachelorette party tonight, and I made plans to do something with Dad since we were both casted out of the party.
So I pretty much don't know where my morning went because it seemed like a lot of stuff was going on. I started moving my stuff from the spare bedroom out into the kitchen so that it would be ready to be loaded into the car once Dad was ready to load it. Kelley and Mom got ready for the party, and then they left, and Dad took a shower, and then we were on the way to the movies!
We saw The Butler which was really good and interesting. It was long, but I wasn't waiting for it to be over, so the length wasn't a problem. It was inspired by a true story, too! Except that a lot of the movie was not actually true of the person it was supposed to be about, but they had to make the story line more interesting and deep, and I thought the end result was well done!
After the movie we went out to dinner at a pizza/Italian-type restaurant. We ordered some bruschetta, and then they brought out a loaf of bread, and then we got our main meal which was a good size. We were not hungry by the time they brought out our food, but we were able to finish it all like champs. The food was soo good too! I was definitely in food heaven, and I didn't want any leftovers since I'm leaving tomorrow.
After that we drove home with full stomachs. I started packing all my clothes, and that's when Kyle called me to finish up our work. I had just finished packing my suitcase, and then we finished what we were doing, and I submitted my application to work at the library! Oh boy! That was really exciting, except it said that if they weren't interested that would be the last time I would hear from them, soo now it's kind of up in the air whether or not I'll get a job or not.
After we got off the phone I folded my laundry and then I started packing my duffle bag. It's crazy how much stuff I feel like I should bring. It looks like way too much!
Then when everything was set and packed I went outside and took a picture of the back of the car, because it was pretty full, and that officially means I'm ready to head back to school. I don't even know where this summer went!

August 23, 2013
This morning I got up and got dressed and decided to watch a few episodes of Lost. I also read because I wanted to finish my book today, but that, sadly, did not happen. Dad came home from work a few hours earlier than usual because he had to take Grandma and her friends on a boat ride, so he left a little bit after he came home. I watched a few more episodes of Lost because the episodes kept ending on a cliff-hanger, and I couldn't handle the suspense, and then I changed my clothes because I was going out with Julie and Jill tonight!
Tomorrow night is Julie's bachelorette party, but since I'm not 21 I can't go, so she decided to do something with me tonight instead, and Jill was invited along too! We made plans to meet at the nail salon around 5:30 or 6, and when I texted Jill to see when she was getting there, she suggested that we ride together. She got me around 5:45, and then we headed to the nail place. Julie had already begun to get her nails done when we arrived, so we sat and waited for awhile until a person opened up for us to go to. Julie finished right when Jill and I started, so she had to wait awhile for us.
After we our nails were done and we decided they were dry enough to go on with our lives, we drove over to a Mexican restaurant for dinner.
The restaurant was super busy because it was a Friday night and during dinner time, but we got a table right away. I took this picture of our nails on the table. Julie's nails are blue, Jill's are purple, and mine are a color that Jill and I say looks like grout haha.
We got some guacamole for an appetizer, and then we got our foods! I ordered fajitas which was the first time I've ever gotten fajitas at a Mexican restaurant. They were super good, but I got super full, so I had to bring the rest of my food home. When we were done with dinner we got to see Julie's bouquet which was beautiful and sparkly, and then Jill drove me home.
I talked to Kyle again tonight, and then I went to bed after a fun night out!
Today I got to see Judy! But first I had another day to myself. I worked on my resume some more filling in stuff about me, and I was actually make something that was a page long! I was surprised by myself!
When Mom and Dad came home Mom and I left to get to Judy's house! Marbles was there to great us, of course, and she was cute, of course! She had gotten a haircut since the last time we saw her, and it looked really cute and fluffy. We said hello to Judy, and we stayed outside awhile to watch Marbles run around. I took this picture of her for the one second when she was sitting still. Then Butch came home, and we said hi to him, and we went inside and talked for a little bit.
We left a little bit after that to go out to dinner. Judy directed us to this restaurant in her town that she thought we would like, and we did! Mom and I both got salmon which was really good, and Judy got a salad which looked super delicious!
We stayed at the restaurant and talked for a few hours, and then on the way back to Judy's house we decided to stop at an ice cream stand and get some dreamsicles. Those were also super good!
We drove back to Judy's house and talked and waited until Mindy got home. She was flying home and her flight was delayed, so she got there later than she thought she would, but we waited for her! We talked for a bit, and then Mom and I decided to go because it was getting late and she had to work in the morning, so we said our goodbyes and left. I got super tired on the way home, so as soon as I got home I decided to go to bed.

Today was a lot like the past few days. It was very uneventful and filled with Lost and reading, because that's all there is to do these days, I guess.
When Mom and Dad got home, though, we ate some leftovers, and then Mom and I went shopping! Hurray! I went through coupons earlier today to find things that applied to what I needed for college, and I surprisingly found a whole lot of coupons!
Our first stop was Wal-Mart because we figured we could get a lot of shopping done in just the one store. We did end up getting most of the stuff that was on my list at Wal-Mart. We got some bathroom stuff and some cleaning supply stuff and some foods stuff. By the end of our shopping we had a pretty full cart. I took this picture of the cart while we were trying to find a cashier, and as you can probably see, it is an action shot.
After Wal-Mart we went to Target because we were trying to find some stuff there that Wal-Mart didn't have. We ended up buying Saltines because that is one food I cannot live without! It was a must-buy!
Then after Target we went home. I talked to Kyle again tonight to go over how we wanted the resume to be laid out. I used Dad's as a copy, and I'm starting to feel pretty positive about this!

Today was another relaxing day! I watched more Lost and read some more of my book. That was all I pretty much did with my day, so I took a picture of Jersey being cute, because when nothing else exciting happens, she is always there to look cute!
When Mom and Dad got home we went to the chiro. It was super nice because my back had been hurting for a while, and he fixed it! Yay! He said that my whole left side was stiff, so that's great haha. But hopefully I'm all better now!
We ate some dinner. I read some more in the evening, and then around 10 Kyle called me to help me apply for a job and write a resume! Oh boy! We talked for about an hour, and then he had to go to bed, so I went to bed too.

Today was my last free Monday of the summer! Next week will be my first day of classes nice and bright and early in the morning. I celebrated today by doing nothing! Hurrah!
After I woke up this morning I decided to watch some Lost. I watched a few episodes, and then I decided to do more productive things with my life like reading. So I read, and I looked over the classes I was taking this semester, and I pretty much just sat around and did nothing.
When Mom and Dad came home we ate dinner, and Dad was saying that the groundhog was back. For a while now we've had a groundhog living in our barn, and Dad put a live trap in there a few days ago, and since then the groundhog hasn't been seen, but we saw it today! So after dinner Dad went down to look in the trap, and the groundhog was inside! So he brought it up to the house, and I took pictures of it, because it was cute. I thought it was going to be a lot bigger, but it was actually pretty small. It was probably smaller than Jersey. It also had a cut on its nose which Dad thinks is from the bars of the cage. As you can see Dad lured it in with apples from our apple tree because it liked eating them. Then Dad rode to the other side of the creek and let it go. Hopefully it will now stay away from our barn!

This morning we ate breakfast, and I got dressed, and we took a family trip to my grandma's garage. Dad and I cut the grass while Mom trimmed the bushes around the garage. That took about an hour for everything to get done. When Dad and I were done cutting we hauled the branches and stuff into the trailer, and the trailer was pretty much overflowing with branches because Mom cleared out the areas where the bushes were. It looks nice now!
We got home around noon, and I decided to read for the day. I got pretty far in my book which is just as good as it was the first time I read it. At one point Mom decided to cut Jersey's nails which cracks me up every time it happens because Jersey never fails to look like a desperate little pup pup who's having such a hard life. Just look at her in the picture! She's so sad, and it's hilarious! So I took a picture of her getting her nails done because I can't resist how cute she is.
In the afternoon I decided to watch some Lost, and then I read some more. I have one week left before I leave for school! Oh boy, this summer went fast!

Today was a bike trip extravaganza with Jill! When I saw her on Wednesday we thought today might be a good day to ride our bikes to a sandwich place and eat there since it's not that far away! And this morning I woke up to a text from her asking if I still wanted to ride our bikes there!
So after I woke up Mom made pancakes, and we ate, and I took a shower. I had a few hours to sit around, and then I went and got my bike out of the shed. It was a little life threatening to get my bike because there was this giant wasp thing flying around that was literally the size of my thumb. It was terrifying. But I sneaked past it and was able to get my bike without being attacked! Then I loaded my bike in my car and was on my way to Jill's house! We decided to leave from my aunt's house so that we wouldn't have to bike down any busy roads. It was hotter than it felt outside, and we had to stop a few times to get a drink. At one point we had to stop because Jill was having a hard time breathing, and we continued biking on. We took roads that I've never been down before so I had no idea how close to the restaurant we were until I actually saw the sign. I think it took us about an hour to get there and the maps said it was 8 miles away.
We parked our bikes and then we went inside. We each ordered. I got a panini which are normal sized. This restaurant has GIANT sandwiches. I took a picture of Jill eating her sandwich, and just for reference what she is holding is half of half of the sandwich and that wrapped thing still on her tray is the other half haha. They're so big!
She saved the other half of her sandwich, and then we got our bikes and set out back home. I started feeling really nauseous on the way home, and just in general the way back was a struggle for me haha. I was hot and thirsty and not feeling well, and by the time we got back to my aunt's house I had to sit inside for a little bit because I was really shaky, and I think that was the closest to fainting I've ever felt in my life.
Jill helped me load my bike back inside my car, and then I drove home and fell asleep on the couch. I woke up because I thought I was going to puke, and I walked to the bathroom ready to puke, but then the feeling passed, and I laid back down and fell asleep again. I felt amazing after my nap! It was the best thing ever! So I decided to drive out to Walgreens. I had planned on stopping at Walgreens after the bike ride, but since I was dying I passed on that. I was really taken aback by the Walgreens because they had updated the store since the last time I was in there, and everything looked so modern! Good job Walgreens. So I bought some disinfectant stuff for my ear, and then drove back home.
We had dinner a little bit later, and then I spent the rest of the night reading, and it was great. Even though I almost passed out, I enjoyed my bike ride to the restaurant! It was a great adventure!

Today was a nice relaxing day after the past few days of business. I slept in this morning since I've been waking up to an alarm clock the last few days, and it felt great! Except I still woke up at pretty much the same time, but whatever!
After I woke up I decided to watch some Lost until about lunch time and then the FedEx guy stopped by my house and dropped off my printer! It was very exciting!! Except that the address label on the printer said I was supposed to sign for it, and he just rang the doorbell and walked away, so good thing I was home to get it off the front step!! I took a picture of my printer and Jersey sniffing it once I set it on the carpet. She approved of the new addition to the house.
Then I logged on to my school e-mail, and I had an e-mail saying one of my classes was canceled for the upcoming semester because not enough people signed up for it. I was really upset because I was looking forward to this class, and I just bought all the books I needed for it the other day because there was a sale going on at one of the book buying websites, and I got them all for really cheap! But now I have to return them or something, and it makes me upset.
So I spent the rest of the afternoon finding a new class to take in that class's place, and I found one at the exact same time! So that was nice.
After that stress was over Mom and Dad came home, and I unpacked my printer, and it was beautiful, but now it's just sitting there until I can hook it up.
We ate dinner, and then I watched a few more episodes of Lost, and then I finished reading The Subtle Knife! Yay! Only one more book left in the series, and this last one is super intense!

Today Mom took the day off work, so we did things together today! I had a doctor appointment at 10 this morning to get a skin tag removed, so I woke up at 8 and ate some breakfast and then took a shower. We left the house at 9ish to head to the doctor. I had to fill out forms at the doctor office, and I felt like a real adult! Except I had to ask Mom questions as I was filling out the forms. Eventually I was called in, and then we waited awhile for the doctor came in, and then we were done within probably three minutes. It was all very easy and fast, and we were done!
We wanted to go to a Chinese place for lunch for a buffet, but they opened at 11:30, and since my doctor appointment went really fast we had some time to kill, so we went to Target. We went looking for baby shower gifts for someone who's having a baby shower, but the one thing Mom wanted to get off the registry wasn't in the Target, so we gave up and went to eat at the Chinese buffet. The food was super delicious like always, and I ate way too much like always.
When we were done eating we decided to go the mall we went to last time Mom took off so that she could return something and buy some hangers, and while we were out by that mall, we decided to stop by that Target to see if they had the gift Mom wanted to get. This Target didn't have it either, so finally I asked the girl at customer service which Target did have the gift and she pointed me to another Target that was about an hour away, so we got back in the car and drove to that Target. We ended up finding the gift finally, and then we bought the remaining things for the rest of the gift, and we crossed that off our list!
After that long day of driving all over the world we drove home, and then I read and took a quick nap. Arzu and I had made plans to go out to dinner and a movie because she leaves on Saturday to go back to school!! The only movie either of us wanted to see was only playing in a town an hour away, and it started at 8:35, so she said she would pick me up at 6:30. I was glad I was able to take a nap in the time from getting home until she came to pick me up because I was really tired for whatever reason. But I was all refreshed when she came to pick me up!
We drove out to the town where the movie was playing, and then we ate at Potbelly for dinner, and it was super delicious! I took this picture of us while we were done eating and still in the restaurant. We ate and talked, and when we were done it was the perfect movie to head over to the movie theater, so that's where we went.
The movie theater was super huge because it was an AMC theater which was such a legit theater. When we went to buy our tickets, though, Arzu bought hers first, and then when I went to buy mine the guy told me that they were all sold out!! I was so sad!!!! And Arzu and I were both like "ohhh", and then the guy said he was just joking and gave me a ticket hahaha. It was a very traumatic experience, though haha.
The movie we saw was called The Way Way Back, and it was soo good! First of all, all the previews we saw before the movie looked awesome, and then the movie itself was awesome. As soon as the credits came up Arzu turned to me and said "I actually love that movie" haha. It was really good, and I don't really know why. It was sad and funny and very realistic. I recommend it.
We talked about it for awhile on the way home, and we both agreed it was awesome. I ended up getting home at 11:30, and we chatted for a little bit in the driveway before I hugged her goodbye!! Today was just so much fun!

Today was another day in the classroom! I woke up earlier than yesterday because I showered this morning, and then I ate some breakfast and waited for Jill to arrive.
She came a little later than yesterday because she woke up a little late, but she got me picked up, and then we drove to her school. She decided today that the goal would be to empty out the coatroom. There were a lot of boxes and other stuff in there, so we took it all out and set it on the floor. After we were done taking everything out there was an overwhelming amount of stuff on the floor. We went through some of it, and then we decided to take a snack break in the teacher lounge area. Jill and I ate string cheese, and then we were accompanied by Jill's principal and the school's office lady. They ate lunch, and we chatted for a little bit, and then we went back to the classroom to sort through more stuff. Eventually I decided to line up all the numbered magnets while Jill decided what she wanted to keep, and then when she cleared off the area of the floor where the carpet sits, we went upstairs to her teacher friend to see if she wanted to go out to lunch with us again.
We went to Subway today, and it was freezing inside! It was so freaking cold! I had goosebumps, and I was shivering, and it was terrible. The problem with this situation was that it was probably only 70 degrees outside so there was absolutely no need to have air condition on anywhere. And when I walked outside I was still cold because there was no warm air to warm me up when I stepped outside!!
We drove back to Jill's school, and then she wrote me a list of things to do on the board. I ended up getting her books ready, and then I set up her desks. I cleaned them from the children from last year, and then I stuck their name tags down and set up their books and such. It felt very productive. I took this picture of all the desks set up! Aren't they so cute!! Then we called it a day and went home.
When I got home I ate dinner and then I decided to read some more, and that was pretty much my day.

Last week Jill asked me if I wanted to help out in her classroom this week, and I said yes, so this morning she came and picked me up at 9:45, and we drove to her school! We cought up with what was going on in each others' lives on the car ride there, and then she told me that the goal today was to get all her bulletin boards decorated! The last two years it has been mine and Kelley's job to do the bulletin boards, but since Kelley is down at school, it was only me and Jill today!
We started with her giant bulletin board because it was the most straightforward one which makes it the easiest one to decorate! We also upgraded our supplies from last year because last year we had a one-foot ruler and this year we actually had a tape measure, so it was a lot easier to measure things when we weren't flipping a ruler over and over again. We went into the basement to get the paper. Her bulletin board is taller than the width of the paper so usually we'd have to cut two pieces to cover the whole board, but this year she bought 3" boarders which covered all the extra bulletin board that would be showing, so that was another upgrade from last year! Yay! We struggled a bit hanging the paper since it was so huge and there was only two of us, so bulletin boards is definitely a two-person job. After we got the giant bulletin board hung we hung up her alphabet on the tiny bulletin board above it. We both agreed that the boarders were super cute and bold. I took this picture of her standing in front of the completed two bulletin boards on that wall! We were so proud of ourselves! Next we decided to work on the opposite wall where there is a white board with two bulletin boards on each side and a small bulletin board across the top. We cut the paper for the two bulletin boards on the side and then two other bulletin boards on a different wall that were next to the other white board, and then we hung all four pieces of paper on those four boards. One of the bulletin boards had stuff that needed to be cut around, so we had to do some hardcore math to figure out how far into the paper we had to cut and stuff. We were definitely working our brains.
After that we decided to go to lunch, so we stopped by Jill's teacher friend to see if she wanted to eat lunch with us, and then we went to a Mexican store/ restaurant to get some tacos. We ate our tacos which were really good, and while we were paying we're pretty sure we saw someone rob the store because he placed a 2 liter bottle of pop on the counter and then ran out to the train that had just pulled into the station, so we all thought he was running to catch the train before it pulled away, but Jill's teacher friend thought she saw him holding something in his sweatshirt while he was running....so we're pretty sure he robbed the place.
When we got back to Jill's room after lunch we cut a giant piece of paper from down stairs and then laid it in the hallway so that we could measure and mark where we needed to cut it to fit the last bulletin board above her other whiteboard. After everything was done the room looked so good because the boarders were so bold, and they stood out really well!!
Then Jill hung sound cards or something on one last bulletin board, and we called it a day. She drove me home, and I got home a few minutes before Mom and Dad got home. I helped Mom prepare meals because she was making a few that we could eat throughout the week, and then I read. I was so tired after dinner because it was such a long day, but it felt really productive! I could not wait to get to bed, though!

After I woke up this morning I decided to watch Lost until noon because I had nothing else to do with my life. I felt really tired when I woke up , so it was a nice thing to do to ease me into being awake haha. Then I ate lunch and took a shower. After my shower I decided to read more of my book because I really wanted to finish it tonight. That's pretty much all I did until Mom and Dad came home, and then I went shopping with Mom and Grandma. We dropped Grandma off at Wal-Mart first, and then Mom and I went to Aldi before going back to Wal-Mart to do shopping. I took this picture of Grandma while we were leaving the Wal-Mart parking lot. She turned around to talk to me right when I was taking this picture, so that's why she's looking like she's talking in this picture haha. Then we drove Grandma home and went home ourselves. I helped Mom put some groceries away, and it was nice to have food in the house again since the food stash was running low.
After that I read more of my book and I finished it!! Yay! I reread The Golden Compass which was just as great as the first time I read it back in middle school, except I understood a lot more of it this time around since I'm older now. But I forgot what a good book it was. Before I went to bed I started the second book in the series, and I'm really pumped about it! I read the first chapter before going to bed.

Today was another lazy day! I felt like I should be doing so much with my life, but there wasn't really much to do! But after I woke up I decided to go outside and cut the grass. It was pretty chilly outside for August, and I had to wear a sweater which is crazy. But I eventually got hot, so it wasn't too crazy. The apple tree dropped pretty much all its apples over the past week, so I could not mow under the tree which was a pain, but I just mowed around all the apples. There were so many of them!!
After mowing the grass I decided to go through my iTunes and delete a lot of songs that I don't like/skip every time they come on. I felt like I was making a whole lot of progress, but when I plugged my iPhone in it still said there wasn't much free space left, so I still have to go through more thoroughly and delete more songs eventually. It just takes me a long time to do that because I get really nostalgic for my music for whatever reason. I just need to get over it.
When Dad came home from my uncle's rental house we prepared dinner together. I cute up a green pepper and a cucumber and an onion which made me cry, and Dad cut up the cauliflower. My uncle gave him the cauliflower because his boss grows it in his backyard, and it was the weirdest looking cauliflower I had ever seen! So I took a picture of it! It was so huge, and the flowery parts were just so weird looking. I don't think this picture really gives the weirdness justice. Dad stuck a knife in it so you could compare it for size.
So we prepared dinner with all the vegetables, and we also had pork chops which were good.
I watched a few more episodes of Lost after dinner, and then I decided to read a lot. I was not really getting tired, so I read a lot in my book, and I'm almost done! Yay! Then I went to bed.

Today was a nice day of relaxing and doing nothing! I decided I did not want to do anything after my busy busy week with Kelley, so that's exactly what I did! I woke up and Mom and Dad were already gone. They planned on working at my uncle's rental house to get it ready for renters, so I was all alone when I woke up. I ate some cereal and then decided to watch Lost. I watched some episodes of awhile, and then I ate lunch and decided to read. I texted Mom to see if I could go over to see the house, but she didn't respond, and I didn't want to get over there and have them be gone, so I just stayed home and read.
Mom and Dad came home a little after 4 and we ate dinner. A little later I decided to watch more Lost. I was almost done with Season 1 and I really wanted to finish it because Kelley said it was really intense. I took this picture of the title screen on the first episode of the finale. It was super intense, and after I finished the first season I watched the first episode of Season 2 because I didn't want to just stop!! But eventually I did stop watching because I wanted to do something else with my time instead of watch t.v., so I read some more before going to bed.

Today was my last day in the south :( I woke up at 7:30 out of nowhere this morning and felt wide awake, so I waited until Kelley got up which was a few minutes later, and then we laid in bed for a little bit because neither of us felt like getting up. But eventually we did get up because we had stuff to do before Mom and Dad got here.
First we ate cereal because we were hungry, and then I finished up cleaning the rest of the dishes that still needed to be cleaned. Kelley moved a shelf into her kitchen to put all her pantry foods on it, and then we got a text saying Mom and Dad were here. I still had a few more dishes to wash by that time, but I got them done quickly while Kelley was giving them a tour of her apartment. We moved some bags around so that there would be room in the living room to put the furniture Mom and Dad brought down, and then we went to the car to bring the furniture up into Kelley's room. They brought a table, a recliner, a desk, and an end table, so we each carried stuff up. Luckily everything was able to be carried up the stairs and through Kelley's door without taking anything apart! We took this picture of us in Kelley's living room in front of the kitchen table, but you can't tell. I still think it's a cute picture, though!
Then we went to Target and Wal-Mart again even though Kelley and I didn't want to take another step inside either of those stores. After shopping for more things like a bookshelf, a fan, a step ladder, and a kitchen mat, we went to eat. We had to eat really fast because we had to leave by 1:30 so that the trailer Mom and Dad rented could be home by 5:30. So when we got back we quick took everything upstairs, and then we showed Mom and Dad the creepy laundry room before saying goodbye, and then we were on our way home!
I fell asleep right away in the car and slept for a good two hours. Then we drove to the trailer rental place and dropped it off, and then we went to Menards to buy plants even though there was 0 room in our car for any more items. We managed to make them fit, and then we drove home. I stayed up watching t.v. for a little bit, and then I did stuff on the computer before I got tired and decided to go to bed. What a fun week in Urbana, though! I had a great time!! My pup pup missed me, though!

Today was another busy day of moving! The lady whose house Kelley was staying in was scheduled to arrive back home some time today, so Kelley wanted to be totally moved out by the time she got home. The first thing we did as soon as we woke up was to load everything into the car. Kelley gathered everything up around the house and put it by the door, and I took everything out to the car. Once the car was packed we headed over to the apartment and unloaded everything, and then we went back and loaded the rest of the stuff that was still in the house back into the car. I was super sweaty by the time we finally had everything out of the house, but it wasn't as hot out today as it was yesterday. Before we unloaded the final load of stuff we went to breakfast at Perkins which Mom and Dad both dislike, but I said I would try it. I ended up having a real awesome breakfast sandwich thing that was super delicious, so I give Perkins a thumbs up!
After breakfast we went back to the apartment and unloaded the final bags and boxes of Kelley's stuff. We ran to Target and Wal-Mart again today to look for more things Kelley could use in her apartment like a toilet seat haha. Then we went back to the apartment and set more things up.
When we got back we met with the landlord to pick up a mattress for Kelley, and we got that all situated in her room, then we had to run to Target and Wal-Mart again to pick up some Lysol to spray the bed and a mattress protector thing to put over the mattress. After all our trips to Wal-Mart and Target these past few days neither of us want to step foot in another one again.
A little after noon we decided to sit down and eat some fruity pebbles for a late lunch. Then we set out to the piercing place to get my ear pierced. I've been wanting to do it for a while, but only Kelley would be able to convince me to do it because if she wasn't with I definitely wouldn't have done it. She took me to the same place where she got her nose pierced which was this tiny tattoo parlor, but it was super clean and nice inside. The people were also really nice too. I had to fill out paperwork, and then I picked out the studs I wanted, and then the lady took me into one of the rooms. She was super nice and cool, and she talked me through everything, and then she laid me down and pierced my ear. It hurt a lot, and I wasn't really sure what to expect because the last time I got my ear pierced I was 10 and it was just my lobes, so this was new. She also said I had really thick cartilages...so that was great. But she did both of them one right after the other, and then she cleaned my ear off. Kelley took this picture of my ear afterwards. I was probably in and out of there within 20 minutes.
When we were done we went to Walgreens to pick up some medicine to put on my ear, and Kelley picked up dish soap, and then we went back to her apartment.
She made some macaroni and cheese and some naan bread, and we ate our weight in macaroni because we were both soo hungry. Then I set to work washing her dishes because they had all been in boxes in a moldy basement for three months. I didn't get through all the dishes because my feet were killing me from all the walking and standing I did today. I took a shower and then I passed out on her new bed and we spent her first night in her apartment! We were both really hot so we slept with the covers off, but it was a nice sleep.

This morning Kelley woke up before me, and I woke up a little bit later. We planned on getting up early so that we could get everything ready and be out of the house before the cleaning lady got there. We moved Kelley's stuff so that it was more out of the way, and then we got Kelley's bike and the lady's bike whose house she was staying in out of the garage. The woman's bike was way too tall for me, so I had to ride Kelley's bike, and Kelley rode the woman's bike, and then we were on our way from the house before the cleaning lady showed up.
The first stop we made was breakfast at the same diner we ate at when Mom, Dad, and I came down to switch cars with Kelley. It was super cheap and good, and when we were done there we looked for geocaches and headed to the first one that sounded good. The first one we found was behind a gutter at some type of daycare/school place, and then we headed to the next cache which said it was in a parking garage. We had to go up to the top floor of the parking garage, and we were walking around like sketchy people trying to find where the cache was. It ended up being magnetized to the parking sign that was hanging on the side of the building, and it was camouflaged to look like part of the sign. I took this picture of Kelley's hand reaching for the cache on the parking sign because we thought it was a really cool place to hide a cache.
We went to the next one after that, but there were people sitting on the bench thing we thought the cache was under, so we sat around for a little bit before we decided they were not moving, and then we headed on one more. The last one we found was on a piece of art thing that was on campus. It was white and there was a whole lot of spiral things and poles and stuff. The geocaching website said that the cache was in a white chapstick container, so we knew it was going to be difficult to find. We ended up spending a good half hour trying to find the cache, and we were crawling around on the ground because everybody was saying that it was visible only if you were on the ground. Eventually Kelley did find it tucked behind one of the bigger parts of the statue. We were glad we were finally able to find it, and then we rode over to this tiny restaurant and ordered tacos. It was pretty humid out today so we got pretty gross while riding our bikes. The tacos really hit the spot after biking around all day, and after we were done eating them, we rode back to the house Kelley was staying in. We had been gone for about 3 hours, and the cleaning lady was gone by the time we got back, so that was good news. The house was so clean, we were both really surprised by how great of a job she did!
A little bit after we got back Kelley got a call from her landlord saying that she was good to move in, so I went with her to meet him, and I took a walk around her apartment, and then we went back to the house and loaded the first load of stuff to bring over.
First Kelley vacuumed everything and I swiffered all the floors. It definitely needed the cleaning, and then we started moving stuff upstairs into her apartment. I cleaned the cabinets in the kitchen and other stuff in the kitchen, and after a few hours there we decided to head out to Target to look for things she decided she needed. We were at Target for awhile, and we were both getting really hungry so we looked to see if Panera was still open, and it was even though it was 9 o'clock. So we went to Panera and ate, and it was the most delicious meal ever. Then we went back to Kelley's apartment and hung up shower curtains and did other stuff in the apartment before heading back to the house. We both took showers which felt great after a day of biking around and then moving things into the apartment. So this morning I ended up waking up at 7:30 because I needed to go to the bathroom, and while I was walking back I must've woken Kelley up because the wood floors were really squeaky. So we were up at 7:30 except we didn't get out of bed right away, so we both ended up falling back asleep. We ended up getting up for real a few hours later. We decided to make breakfast with some of the foods we got yesterday at the grocery store. I made the waffles and Kelley prepared the cinnamon rolls. The cinnamon rolls were really weird because they looked more like muffins than rolls, but they still tasted good!
I took a picture of our breakfast because I thought it looked cute sitting out all together. So here is a picture of our breakfast. The waffles were soggy, and I think it's because they were sitting on top of each other for a while, and every time I opened the waffle maker that was a whole lot of condensation happening in the waffle maker, so I think that had something to do with why they were kind of soggy.
After breakfast we decided to run to two of the libraries to return the cds we got yesterday and to get new cds and to pick up Lost from the campus library since they for sure had them. I ended up getting the whole first season in case I watched that much during the week haha.
When we got back to the house Kelley decided to start packing up her stuff so that we could move it from the house to her new apartment. Her landlord called and said her apartment might be ready today, and then he called and said that it was not ready to be moved into, so she had to settle on just getting her stuff together. We ate some chicken nuggets and fries for lunch, and then while Kelley packed I watched Lost and it was super intense. Eventually we ate these pasta crepe-y things for dinner that were good, and we also had garlic bread. Kelley was trying to empty her freezer because she needed to unplug the fridge because a cleaning lady was coming tomorrow and the fridge needed to be dethawed. So we tried to eat as much frozen stuff as we could. Around 9ish we packed all the fridge stuff in bags, and we brought it over to Kelley's friend's apartment who said she could babysit the food until Kelley moved into her apartment. When we got back to the house we spent another night putting music on our ipods. It was another late night, and eventually we went to bed.

When we got back to the house we spent another night putting music on our ipods. It was another late night, and eventually we went to bed.

Today was the exciting day I've been waiting for!! All summer Kelley and I have been wanting to arrange a time for me to go down and stay with her, and the opportunity finally happened for this week! We both woke up a little late because of our late night watching Lost. Kelley then took a shower and left to go to an appointment, and I took a shower and ate some lunch. I read more from my book, and then when she got home, she did her homework so that she could get it out of the way for today. After I packed for my week, I watched one episode of Lost while she packed the things she wanted to take with her back to school.
We finally set out on the road a little after two. Kelley was hungry so we made plans to stop at this one restaurant that was on the way, but when we parked at the restaurant and got out of the car we saw that they weren't open on Mondays, so we had to choose a new place. We decided to stop at a Chipotle in a town we were passing through. Kelley was really hungry so she got chips and salsa, but I just got my burrito which was delicious like always. I took this picture of us while we sat down to eat. The special guest in the picture is Kelley's chip bag haha. The chips ended up being really weird because they were kind of stale but kind of spicy too like someone accidentally dropped some salsa in there or something, but we still ate them.
We got to Champaign some time in the afternoon, and we stopped at the grocery store first to pick up some snacky things including Oreos. Then we dropped our stuff off at the house Kelley was living in before we went to the Urbana library, the campus's library, and the Champaign library looking for Lost DVDs because we didn't have anything to do tonight so we figured we could do that, but the Urbana and Champaign library were checked out, and the campus library was closed. It was Kelley's first time at the Champaign library, and it was so nice! It was such a beautiful building. While we were in there looking for the DVDs Kelley came across some cds that we could check out, so we picked out a whole stack, and then we drove back to the house. We ate some Oreos with milk once we got back, and then we put some music on our ipods! It took us a while, and we were starting to get slaphappy, but eventually we were done, and then we went to bed.

Today was another hunting for jewelry day! Last night Mom, Dad, and I decided to go to this one flea market because we hadn't been there yet this summer. So we ate breakfast early, and then set out to get there. It was really hot out today, so it wasn't exactly comfortable to walk around outside, and the flea market is pretty big, so we got really hot and sweaty while we were out. Mom ended up finding a lot more jewelry for the bouquet, so that's coming together nicely!
We finished walking through the flea market around noon, and on our way home we stopped at a farm market stand that sells corn and stuff so that we could pick up some corn! I took this picture of Mom while she was picking out corn at the corn bucket. We also got a watermelon and bananas and some apple cider donuts that were super good! After that we drove home. Dad and I ate a late lunch, and then I cut the grass because it was super long. Mom also laid out all the jewelry we found next to each other, and it looks super good all together!
I was originally supposed to pick Kelley up from the train station, but she didn't think she could make the train in time, so instead I just read on the couch. I helped peel the corn for dinner, and then Mom and Dad made steaks and the corn, and Mom cut up watermelon, and our dinner was super delicious!
After dinner Kelley was driven home and we stayed up talking, and I decided to watch more episodes of Lost while she was doing her homework. We watched a whole lot of episodes until late into the night, and then we went to bed in preparation for our long drive tomorrow!

This morning was retail shopping day! Mom and I headed to town this morning after we got ready in the morning, and our goal was to hit all the retail shops/ flea market places in town to look for jewelry. My uncle's fiance wants to make her bouquet out of brooches and things that have rhinestones in it, so we were on a hunt for that. We ended up going to about four retail stores including Goodwill before we stopped for lunch at Panera. It was super busy in Panera because we went at lunch time, and then we went to three more retail stores. We ended up finding a few pieces of jewelry for the bouquet after visiting all the places, so when we got home, Mom took a picture of all the pieces and then sent them to Julie. Mom went outside to do yard work, and I stayed inside and read more of my book. I ended up taking a two hour nap because I was really tired for whatever reason.
Around 6 Mom and I started to make dinner. Mom made cheesy chicken enchiladas, and I helped shred cheese and cut tomatoes and such. Dad had to work today, and he was still there while we ate dinner.
After dinner I read more of my book, and I ended up finishing it around 11! I was never really a huge fan of Alice in Wonderland the movie when I was a kid, but I thought reading it might change my mind, and it didn't. It's just too weird. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland wasn't too bad, but Through the Looking-Glass was not good. I had no idea what was going on half of the time, and it was supposed to be a children's book...so I don't know. I won't read it again.
I took a picture of my book to show that I finished it! And after that I went to bed.

This morning I woke up later than I have been in a while! But after I did finally wake up I went out into the living room and Kelley was there. Neither of us felt like doing anything this morning, but eventually we both ate a brunch-ish type thing. I took a shower, and then we left. Kelley had an eye appointment at Wal-Mart at 1:15, but we left super early and got there super early. Once we got to Wal-Mart I was super hungry even though I had just eaten toast, so I went to Subway while Kelley was getting her eyes checked and ate a sandwich. I was done eating pretty quickly, so I just walked around Wal-Mart for awhile until Kelley told me she was done at her eye appointment. We both searched the store for stuff, and all we ended up buying were travel toothbrush holders.
After Wal-Mart we went to Hobby Lobby. We decided to go to T.J. Maxx after that, and Kelley got some stuff for her kitchen, and then we each bought a dress. I took this picture while we were in the car haha. Kelley looks so happy with life.
After that we went home and Mom and Dad were already home from work. Kelley and I ate dinner, and then Mom and Dad left because Dad was being fitted for his tux tonight for the wedding!! So Mom and Dad left, and then Kelley convinced me to start watching the first episode of Lost while she took a shower. When she was out of the shower we quickly left so that I could take her to the train to head to the city for Lollapalooza tomorrow!

Today I decided to eat lunch with Mom and Dad at work! I woke up later than I usually do, so I took a shower and then I just hung out for a little bit until it was time to leave. Mom called me while I was in the shower, and when I got out she called again to tell me that the parking lot was under construction, and then she gave me directions to a different parking lot.
I left around 11:20 and got there at 11:40ish, and then I had to wait in one room because I didn't know how to find Mom's office after parking in the new parking lot.
When we got to her desk she locked everything up, and then we headed to the cafeteria. Dad met up with us a little later, and then we all got lunch! Dad and I got paninis because it was panini day, and Mom got a little personal pizza.
I took this picture of them when we sat down to eat. Isn't it lovely?! So we ate lunch, and then after lunch we went up to the library to look out the window at the construction happening in the parking lot. It was really crazy and looked really confusing because everything was all torn up and it was just mounds of dirt.
Then I said bye to the both of them, and I drove to Barnes and Noble. Barnes and Noble did not have the book I was looking for, so I didn't get anything, and then I drove to Target. Target didn't have the lights I was looking for, so I just drove home. So other than a delicious lunch, that outing was a failure. When I got home I wrote my blog and did other things, and then Mom and Dad came home a few hours later. Dad and I made and ate dinner because Mom wasn't feeling well, and then we went to get mulch while Mom took a nap on the couch. When we got back I started reading Alice's Adventures in Wonderland because it's been on my to-read list for a long time. After a few chapters I started getting really tired, so I took a nap. When I woke up I stayed on the couch after Mom and Dad went to bed to wait up for Kelley, but after awhile I decided to go to my room, and I never heard her come home! But she did come home eventually, so I went to bed. Also, I turned 19 1/2 today! Yay!
